Barely marginal. We took my parents out for what we thought was going to be a special dinner. Our waitress was OK and was prompt at getting us seated (which was good since the restaurant was almost empty). Drinks were OK – but nothing special was ordered. The sushi rolls were adequate although we didn’t order anything you wouldn’t find at a fast food place (california roll & dynamite roll). The meals, on the other hand were anything but good. The japanese salad was a wilted ‘bag o salad’ with iceberg lettuce. The miso soup was the most flavourful. The rice actually contained your typical frozen cubed carrots and peas! My parents ordered the mixed seafood with noodles and ate about two bites. The scallops & shrimp were way overcooked and tough and everything had the bland flavour of the sauce. I think they were overstocked in brocolli that day as everything – including the tempura – had huge pieces of brocolli (overcooked at that)When the waitress came to take away our plates there was not a single question as to how our food was – even though most of it still remained on the plates! The bill was over $100 for food that would have tasted far better for 1/2 the price around the corner at Yogi’s Grill. Authentic Japanese – I think not. Would not recommend this resaturant nor will we ever go back. A huge disappointment.
Waste of $100.00. Good morning, I do not generally write comments about places but last night was pretty bad. We set at a teppanyaki table. We arrived at around 8:00pm the hostess was very nice seated us right away. The service was bad and very slow, it did not seem your place was understaffed maybe it was. We ordered steak, chicken & shrimp the food was okay. The place was filthy you could see dried food on the floor and teppanyaki tables and before we were done eating we were given to go boxes. So we thought we’d move up to the bar only to be told last call at 10:15pm. Not a good experience and a waste of $95.00, we will not return just thought you might want to know.
Worst service ever. We only went here once. We didn’t get are beverages until three plates into the habathi because we were last seated. I didn’t enjoy the Habathchi show and thought the guy was just laughing at guest and trying to hurt them….this was awful
Oh, man. What a waste of 3 hours! The service is slow, and the sushi chef is a cranky old dude who just glares and grumbles at everyone. Look, Gordon Ramsay, you’re not good enough to have that attitude yet. Talk to me when you can plate a CA roll in under 30 minutes. Wow. I am sooo disapointed.
Oh the service…. Took exactly 12 minutes to get us seated in a fairly empty restaurant. Apparently the server who was working the tables was on break, so the hostess had us and 2 other families wait. It turns out we were the lucky ones. We entered the restaurant, waited, ordered our food, waited, and received food before the people seated at 2 teppanyaki tables even had a cook arrive. I felt bad for them. Our waitress was attentive with refilling our drinks. However, she lost all her cool points when she decided to reach over our newborn baby and serve all of our piping hot food and our refills. We asked her twice to stop and use the left side of the table instead of trying to balance stuff over our baby. The food is ok. No complaints.Common sense is missing from this place. I recommend the Ah-SO on 75th ave south of Bell, or Sakana on 59th ave and the 101.
Terrible service, SLOW. Seriously gave them 5 chances even got acquainted with the mngr. NEVER AGAIN…
Not good for lunch. I tried the restaurant for lunch and found it too slow and expensive for the quality of food.
