We’ve tried a LOT of BBQ all across the country and I think Naked BBQ might be up for taking the crown from our previous favorite in downtown Wichita. Cleverly named so as to inform that their meats are not covered up by a slathering of sauce from which the flavor is obtained, Naked’s meats themselves are the star of the show. And they do shine indeed! This may be the most flavorful array of proteins I’ve ever had. The pulled pork and brisket are a must. And the beef rib is certainly something to behold! Even the sides (we had potato salad, mac and cheese, garlic broccoli, beans, and cornbread) were mild and pure in their taste. Not to outdo the food, the service and attentiveness of the staff stood out as well. These are people who are very obviously proud of what they serve and really REALLY want you to have an enjoyable and memorable meal. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!!!

If in the area worth a try……… They call this BBQ Naked because the meat and seasoned and smoked. You add the house made sauces if you care too. I had the two meat combo platter that comes with two sides. I thought the pulled chicken had a very nice gentle smoked flavor but was on the dry side (not too bad) and did benefit from sauce. The brisket was seasoned fairly well also with a nice smoke. It wasn’t too fatty either and the day I was there was actually on the lean side. The spicy house made bbq sauce was tasty. Side items didn’t fair as well as the meats for me. Personally I didn’t enjoy the sides. The green beans reminded me of canned. The vinegar style cole slaw was too vinegary for my taste.Slight update- 9-13-15Tried the Turkey and it was DELICIOUS! Sides have improved some since my last visit.
Finally, north Phx has amazing bbq! Absolutely love this place!!!!
