I have never had a bad meal here. The service is consistently good, and the atmosphere is awesome. The place is like a Mexican museum, I’m pretty sure it’s a historic landmark. I take my family here to show them authentic Mexican when they visit tucson. Try the carne seca platter, so much flavor!
Horrible Management!!!. We ate at El Charro this evening and were seated by the kitchen entrance where we were able to hear the conversations from within the kitchen. This noise didn’t bother us, but we were appalled by the behavior of the manager. He frequently entered the kitchen and berated the staff and yelled at them. His commands were demeaning and his use of profanity was completely unprofessional. We were amazed that the wait staff was able to maintain a pleasant demeanor with customers, given the verbal abuse happening in the kitchen. We have eaten at El Charro numerous times and love the food, but delicious food cooked and served by a staff that is being verbally abused and poorly treated, isn’t worth it! We will not return to El Charro unless this practice changes.
