This is one of my favorite reubens. And I’ve had a LOT of reubens. It’s also one of my favorite indoor/outdoor places ever. Mmhmm. Love Tucson.
We too walked all of the way through and almost out before someone noticed. However the service upon seating was great and the food was absolutely delicious. And gluten free. Thank you!
If you are a smoker this is your place, they let people smoke right next to the stage and in the face of everybody eating. We told a waiter and did nothing, then 3 waiters walked bu the group of five smokers and said nothing. Disappointed.
Calling all Gluten-Free-ers! I love that there are several Gluten-Free options that are healthy & delicious. I strongly advise trying the Chocolate Chile Sauce on the Flourless Chocolate Cake. The courtyard and live music make this place joyful. I enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner here!
Love it!!!! Everything about this restaurant is excellent. Hands down!
My sincere regrets. I’m only writing because I want you to succeed in every way. Feedback should help with that, right? As a neighbor, I have watched restaurants come and go at this location, each time hoping it would work. I had such high hopes this time. Kim, one of the cooks has been famous in town for her baking as well as creative entrees. Saturday the 9th, I walked in at about 11:30. Four tables were filled, which is not a lot in this beautiful courtyard. I was acknowledged by a woman when I arriveded for seating. She disappeared before seating me, and NO wait staff was available for nearly ten minutes. I only wanted a coffee and snack. I went to the widowed area thinking that might be where I should order. Not a soul there..I walked into the bar. NO one there. Where were you? I left, hoping the people at their tables were going to get service. Today, 10 days later ,I again arrived at 11:15, purposly passing Cafe a la Carte to give La Cocina another chance. (remember, I really want you to succeed). Two tables of coffee/iced tea drinkers were enjoying the envirionment. I saw a waitress but she didn’t see me and quickly disappeared. I waited, I walked to the windows again, I walked into the back garden, and finally into the bar. The waitress and barman were there, Neither acknowledged my presence as the waitress continued her phone conversation. When she finished, neither of them turned in my direction. We are talking about a distance of maybe 8 feet. I left, of course. How can I support you when I can’t find you? I am glad to see you have a rousing evening business. That’s great! But I had really hoped you would live up to your breakfast and lunch plan. You are in competition with a la Carte, which is tough, but attendion to customers who want to support you should be a part of holding your own. I will try again.
Artsy Eating in Old Towne. I had the Roasted Pork with sauted spinach, garlic, raisin and pine nuts on a ciabatta roll and my wife had the Spinach and Grilled Tilapia Salad. My only complaint was that the red potato salad tasted more like steamed potatoes, not like a potato salad at all. And my wife’s salad could have used a lot more dressing on it. But the ambiance was fantastic, a lot of nice artsy shops around a courtyard of vegetation. Very nice. Don’t be in a hurry though. Our waiter who waited on us was very slow, as was the food coming out. I ordered a gazpacho soup that was very good and the sandwich was excellent. I added a chimichurri, which is a Mid-Eastern sauce, and it made the sandwich, and helped me eat the potatoes. All in all, I intend on going back and hope for another waiter. But he was kind.
