Great Breakfast Spot in North Gilbert!. Been here twice now with two different groups of friends and both experiences have been great! The Hen House Cafe has an admirable selection of breakfast foods with unique specials that change all the time. Good quality ingredients, nice portion sizes and a very consistent experience from visit to visit.There is generally a wait at breakfast times, but it keeps the atmosphere lively and this is one place I don’t mind waiting for. Service is average in speed, but servers are cordial and I have really enjoyed the personalities of some particular members of the waitstaff, such as Tanner, our server this morning.Many of the menu items are simple breakfast classics, but every item here is done well. The house pancakes are huge and delicious and most dishes are well under $10, which really hits a sweet spot when it comes to value. Overall, a worthy breakfast joint that I would heartily recommend to anyone. Check it out!
Waste of time. Was quoted 20 min wait and waited 45 mins. After we noticed that they were seating people who came after us I went to ask how much longer. I noticed that they skipped our name and sat two tables our size or lager and about 10 with 3. We had a party of 4. I was told that give them a minute and they would clean off a table for us. We left 5 minutes later when they offered a table to another party of 4.
Food is amazing! Very imaginative and high quality, staff was nice and owners came by to check how everything was. All in all a great experience and I would definitely recommend

Horrible experience at Henhouse Cafe. Never again! $18.00 for about a quart of milk and three coffees. That is not the disturbing part. After all, a restaurant has the right to charge what they want. NOT posting their prices, however, conveys total disregard of and disrespect to their customers. To top off the insult, the owner actually tried to explain storage of milk was the justification for the cost – and maybe the failure to inform the customer of the price. The whole thing was so ridiculous and patronizing. The reason we ordered the drinks in the first place was because we were told they had a menu item which in fact they were out of. I do think this was an honest mistake, but one that cost us the $18.00 in drinks we would not have ordered. This owner acted petty and unethical. Spare yourself the grief.
Stressful, waste of a meal.. Absolutely the worst customer service and horrible food. Did not think you could go wrong with french toast. Even after voicing our opinion to the owners we were brushed off. Totally disappointing.
