We arrived just before five pm on a Friday. There was one table occupied when we arrived. Seating was prompt. The restaurant is pleasant inside, a little small with high ceilings and an unusual seating space. Our initial waiter took our drink orders, but when he brought them back, he noted the waitress responsible for our table had arrived, and he was turning us over to her. However, while she was in the restaurant, she did not seem to be ready to work, and walked out of the restaurant several times. As a result, service was quite slow and takes at least two stars off this review. At one point we almost asked for the manager to see if service could be improved. There was 35 minutes between the appetizer and the salad, then another 25 for the main course. We had the Mushrooms meteora as an appetizer. The artichokes were not well trimmed, and there were a number of stringy stalks. Outside of the poorly trimmed artichokes, the flavor was overwhelmed by cheese. We would not order this dish again. The salad was slow in arriving. The house salad is well made, a nice blend of vegetables. The bread with it was not good (more below). My wife had the Salmon de Provence. It was well prepared.l. I had the Spicy Puttanesca. Unfortunately, the chicken was overcooked, dry and chalky, but the sausage was undercooked and oily. Overall the meal was oily. I enjoy garlic, but counted eleven (11) whole garlic cloves in the dish: maybe a little overboard for the size of the dish. I could not finish it, and ate less than a third of it. Had it not been so oily. . .The bread provided to the table were small ‘knot’-like pieces that were under proofed, very dense and tough. They were about an inch in diameter, not the size of any roll I’ve had before. Another 30-40 minutes of proofing may have made these edible, but as they were, they seemed more a decoration than a bread.Although it was not busy, we did not leave until 6:45, almost two hours for an appetizer, salad and a main course. We did not try dessert, as we were more than ready to leave. We’ve heard great reviews of this restaurant and consider we went on an off evening. The two rating instead of a one is due to the salmon de provence. The rest of the experience was not up to par with other local restaurants that evening. We’ll try again, but no time soon.

Ordered take out. Waited 50 minutes for food. The waitress said it was typical to take so long after I had been standing there for 40 minutes. I called to talk to owner and did not get a return call. I stopped by and owner was busy in the kitchen and I was told I could wait. When I asked for how long? The waitress told me he said whenever he got done. It’s too bad he is rude and they have poor customer service.

Beware of eating here if you have good allergies (or just don’t like certain things in your meal) because they refuse to make ANY changes to their menu items. I’m allergic to tomatoes (among other foods) and when I asked for one of their salads without tomatoes the waitress flew off the handle about how they don’t make changes, even subtractions. This policy isn’t posted anywhere on the menu or in the restaurant. Would have been nice to know before deciding to eat there…
