My first impression of walking into Serranos on a Tuesday night was a great one. The restaurant was an older one, but the older Spanish music playing fit it perfectly. Once sat, I realized the whole building itself matched the the Mexican theme, as the plates were colorful, the dining area was surrounded by latillos and lovely murals of Mexican scenery, and my menu was large, with authentic Spanish designs, boasting a vast array of food choices. Before the food got to the table, a server by the name of Jorj would take our drinks. Jorj was very humorous. Not only was he humorous, but he and his busser were on top of things; he was there to fulfill my needs. . After taking my order (two shredded beef tacos, served with rice and beans), my food arrived around the 10-minute mark, which was very impressive. Not only that, but when it was placed in front of me, I was already tasting it, it looked so delicious. The tacos, rice, and beans, were all delicious. The shells were deep fried, and the beef was a nice dark color, perfectly shredded; exactly what I had asked for. One thing I did take notice of, that didnt bother me but could be a hit for others, my tacos were very greasy. If they could work on one thing, that would be my inference. The compliments that come with all meals, are the bean dip, salsa, and chips. The bean dip was scrumptious, and you could tell they were kept at the correct temperature by the texture of them. The salsa was not bad, but it was a chunkier salsa- not a preference of mine. Overall the food was great, and the atmosphere and service all added to it. I look forward to eating Serranos numerous times from now on.
This restaurant was some good fun! I was immediately engrossed by the nice lighting and fine dcor. I was greeted with a smile by a nice lady and led to a booth. I was seated across from the finest woman in town, although this is not the restaurant’s doing but my own, having a good date was a nice touch. We were promptly greeted by a kind woman by the name of Rhonda, and she took our drink order (waters) with swift precision and efficiency. She was very funny and easy to interact with! Our waters, along with delicious chips, salsa, and bean dip, were dropped off with great speed by a man named Rey. Rey wasn’t as personable as Rhonda, but I could tell he works hard and was just trying to make his dollar. It would have been nice for him to respond to my peppy tone, however.A man was walking around and playing the guitar while singing. His singing was very nice to listen to and I must say, it really added to the atmosphere! I almost felt as if I were in a little bubble of Mexican culture, and it really engaged me with the dining experience! I barely looked at my phone because I was staring at my date’s face! Our food came and boy did it look fun to eat! I ate my taco with a fork because I felt like trying new things! It ended up just feeling weird so I switched back to eating with my hands like a savage. My chicken taco was good with a capital G-O-O-D! I ate one of my tacos and put the other one in the box to eat while I write this review! It’s sort of soggy but the bite I took was still pretty fun!All in all, I recommend Serrano’s if you have a cute date and want to eat Mexican food, or if you just want to eat Mexican food! It’s definitely worth the trip and the 10 buckaroonies!!
