Spur of the moment. Stopped at Slate for happy hour after work to relax and enjoy the view. Decided to stay for dinner also….mistake!Appetizers good and drinks adequate. Dinner was prime rib (quite good) and almond crusted chicken. Sent first one back (burnt). The second one was not burnt but over cooked(meat was dry). They comp’d us a lemon something or other dessert which was very pasty (yuck). Entertainment was a two year old walking on the table next to us. Kitchen really needs better training. It seems the more they change over the last five year the more things stay the same.Good for happy hour and appetizers, other than that go local….much better!
Wedding Reception. We recently held our wedding reception at Slates and had served prime rib. It was incredible and I continue to hear from guests that the food was exceptional. I highly recommend this location and dish for a wedding reception.
Breakfast was not good. Scrambled eggs had developed a crust from sitting under heat lamp too long. Side of ham was a simple thin slice of deli ham that was really dry. Coffee was weak. Not going back.
