Just Like Grandma’s House!. What a wonderful find!!! My mom and I went by this place on our way to a different place in Gilbert and decided to stop here instead and I am so glad we did. From the moment we walked in the front door we were greeted by such a wonderful atmosphere and very happy people. The owner was milling around talking to everyone and you could tell there were several tables of regulars. This was our first time there and she and our waitress came by frequently, but by no means excessively to see how things were. Our breakfasts were simply amazing! The biscuits are unbelievable and the French toast is a must. The homemade sourdough toast was so chewy and soft it was like being in San Francisco! I will also say, as someone who worked in the restaurant biz for 15 years, the service was impeccable and so was the environment. This is definitely a must for a casual Sunday breakfast or a place to take out of town guests.
No matter how good food about this restaurant. When my daughter’s grilled cheese sandwich had mold, nothing can be good about this restaurant.
By far the worst service I have ever experienced!! I am a server and for me to complain speaks volumes! We waited 15 minutes before our drinks arrived and all the server did was ask who had what and what we wanted, then turned around and walked away! We waited 50 minutes with no refills, no food, no service! At an hour the manager asked if we had ate yet we said NO and nothing was said or done, finally we got up and left. All the while large parties around us that were sat 30 minutes after us were eating! It’s one thing if our order was lost or forgot and we were spoken to and informed that it was on its way but not a single person talked to us once our drinks were delivered!
This place is great.. Love the small homie feel and the fresh homemade food is amazing.. I had the apple pancakes and omg they were the best!! They aren’t thick or dense at all.. This is definitely going to be my to go to breakfast joint for sure!!
Great atmosphere, service and food! We had the artichoke tomato quiche and the hearty scramble both of which were delicious! The crust on the quiche was the best I’ve had in decades!
Food or Management – both equally Poor. Family has tried many times to like the Gilbert House. Never again.
