Blintzes were out of this world!. During our visit to Youngtown, Arizona in January 2014 our sister in law took us to her favorite restaurant in Glendale. The fresh mozzarella/salami sandwich was OUTSTANDING!! Our waitress was very attentive. The blintzes the waitress recommended were delicate and melted in your mouth.

Pierogi & Cheese Blintzes to DIE FOR!!!. I was very excited to find a unique cafe (and great lunch place) to take my girlfriends to this past Saturday…A Touch of European Cafe was the perfect quaint cafe for the afternoon! The owner (Martha?) waited on our table and was very friendly and quite funny too. The cafe is in a vintage renovated home, (cozy to say the least) in the Downtown Glendale Historic District in the Phoenix area, and we were immediately welcomed and made to feel right at home. I knew from the get-go that I wanted to try the Cheese Blintzes and the Pierogi because the reviews locally on tv and in newsprint said not to miss them…and so I DIDN’T!! They were both INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS!! My friends and I shared an order of 6 Pierogi that were tender and scrumptious (truly the best I’ve ever eaten!). I also ordered one of the daily specials which was a grilled Prosciutto & Cheese sandwich on Apricot Walnut Bread which was SPECTACULAR! (I am a grilled cheese snob, so I would know!). I also ordered the Cheese Blintzes to-go, since I had absolutely zero room in my tummy to eat another morsel…oh yeah, and I grabbed a slice of their Poppy-seed Torte too, cuz a tv reviewer said it was not to be believed…and it was DELECTABLE!! Not too sweet at all, with just the right amount of creamy filling and chocolate ganache glaze….I think I need to go finish the last half of slice that’s still in my refrigerator, now that I think of it! lol The prices were very reasonable (about $7.99 for most lunch entrees & less for others) and I truly look forward to my next eating adventure here at the Touch of European Cafe. It is not only a great eating destination, but it is also a wonderful stop-in eatery if you happen to be shopping in the fabulous eclectic gift & antique shops in Catlan Court and Old Downtown Glendale.

Outstanding!. I went here for Saturday afternoon with my wife and in-laws. And I must say I was very impressed! The service was perfect. Martha’s sense of humor was a joy. And she was a very informative all the food on the menu. Especially what was Polish and what does not! The food was absolutely outstanding! By far one of the best dining experiences I have had in years! And I definitely do plan on going back there a lot! Do yourself a favor and dont pass this little place up.

Authentic. Thie is the real deal. The pierogi are delicious – brought my 87 year old polish mother back other roots!A must try!

A delightful treasure…. …tucked in the beautiful historic Old Town Glendale!! I grew up on the east coast, my dad’s family is Polish, and I’ve never found food like we had back home…until I found Touch of European Cafe! The food is top notch, authentic, and a real unique find in the Southwest. Pierogies are delicious!

Soups Are Divine. Waldamer is an excellent Chef. I don’t normally like cabbage rolls but his are outstanding. He has a flair for soup. Whatever the soup is when you visit, I highly recommend you try it. You will not be disappointed.

…from joy! I grew up in a Polish family, so when we were on vacation and found Glendale’s Historic District and A Touch of European Cafe in Sept. 2008, I had to go. I wasn’t disappointed either. The pierogis are freshly made (and cooked in the way we make them at home – boiled then skillet fried) and come simply prepared; sour cream for dipping, dusted with black pepper, and topped with bacon crumbles. That was just the appetizer. For my meal, I got the chicken paprikkash with a side of pickled beet salad. This was why I nearly came to tears. The smell was something that I remember from childhood, something that my grandmother would have cooking on the stove in the afternoon for dinner that evening. Juicy chicken shreds floating in a creamy, smoky orange broth filled with paprika and vegetables, so flavorful and filling…and the beet salad was sweet and tangy and gave a nice crunch that complemented the hot liquid goodness of the paprikkash. It was so good that we went back the following day and got kielbasa that was so juicy and smoky and fresh and hot and delicious when slathered with mustard. It was so big and rich that I couldn’t finish mine after the halfway point (the kielbasa is bought from a butcher and not from the grocery store meat section). On your way out, grab a container of their fresh cookies – Chrucikis and rugalachs – that are conveniently placed at the front door. Freshly baked, they need no extra-sweet additions aside from the fruit filling (rugalachs) or the powdered sugar (chrucikis) and are the perfect compliment to finish off a wonderful dining experience. For those of you in the Glendale/Phoenix area – the couple who own and run ATOE Cafe also have cooking classes available.
