Truly excellent food and friendly, prompt service. We had both chicken and beef chimichangas and they superb. I highly recommend Fajardo’s Cafe. Btw, I’m pretty picky about my Mexican food since I grew up here in PHX.
Let’s not get racism into this please. I think everyone, including people with every color skin, can have a valid opinion of how they like food at a particular restaurant.I grew up in Texas, also on Mexican food, and I’m not sure how much that matters toward a person’s ability to give THEIR OWN OPINION on something.Fajardo’s has one great item on the menu, which I have not seen bested in Phoenix in the 14 years I have lived here: The Chimichanga. They are about as perfect as one can be prepared – hot and crispy on the outside, not greasy at all, and steaming hot and tasty on the inside.Go there just for the chimi. I do.
Im writing this review, because the idiot from the Arizona Republic doesn’t know what real Mexican food taste like and gave this place a mediocre review. The food here is outstanding! I’ve been going here for years and I have never been disapponted at all. This is what real Mexican food is supposed to taste like. No disrespect to the caucasian columnist, but stick to what you know. I grew up on Mexican food and understand what great Mexican food is. To say that this restaurant is ok, is a slap in the face to those that own the restaurant and those that love it. Here’s an idea, why don’t you go to China and tell the Chinese how to cook and tell them what their food should taste like, according to you 🙂
