A really disappointed customer. I went here just this past month and the food was not nearly as good as the reviews suggested. I will not mince words, this was the worst Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at. And the service…I waited perhaps twenty or so minutes for a salad which was preceded by a six dollar appetizer of stuffed mushrooms that took an additional ten minutes to arrive, and this was at two or so in the afternoon, not during lunch rush! I was one of perhaps six patrons and had arrived earlier but somehow was served last. The salad was passable, if sparse, but the mushrooms, for six dollars I expect more than what would fit into a child’s palm. And then there was the bread. It was cold and obviously came from the bakery at a Sam’s Club or perhaps the Safeway a few stores over. As for the main entree, the Chicken Piccata, it was not only late, I am a patient person but it took so long I had to ask after my order, but tasted like a soggy chicken nugget smothered in oil which was accompanied by overcooked vegetables and a truly forlorn pasta whose sauce was so watery that the plate seemed a puddle of pink. I dare say that Ragu would have been far more appetizing and certainly cheaper. Despite the disappointment I decided that perhaps their dessert was good and ordered the Tiramisu, which was touted, like the rest of my sordid meal, to be popular. The dessert was good but tasted more like a cream cake and it missed the bite of the brandy the dessert is supposed to be soaked in, entirely. It was more on the side of dense and slightly dry. There was also very little coffee flavor so I can’t in any way term it as Tiramisu, though it was pleasant enough. That said, I would not ever eat there again. The prices are nice but the quality of food and lackluster service are inexcusable, I would be better served by using the money spent on ingredients at the Safeway that I’m sure they get their bread at.

Thought it was great until my last visit. I went a few times with my boyfriend, loved the butternut squash ravioli. I was by myself one night and decided I wanted some Bella Luna to go. I called in an order and they quoted me 25 minutes but didn’t take my name (it’s a small restaurant so I didn’t think anything of it). I came by the restaurant 20 minutes later and let someone at the bar know I had placed a phone order. He went into the kitchen and then came back and asked what I had ordered. I let him know I ordered the butternut squash. So I sit for another 10 minutes and then all of a sudden the older female owner comes up to me and asks if I had made a to go order. I said yes. She then (very rudely, I might add) tells me that I ordered it twice and that I had confused their staff and had wasted food. I was shocked at how she told me that. It’s one thing to confirm that there was a miscommunication, but another to tell me that it was my fault. She always has a huge frown on her face and I see her drinking glasses of wine when I would sit down to dine. It’s unfortunately because the older male owner is a sweet old man, but his wife (or sister or whoever) is a very rude person. It’s a shame but it doesn’t surprise me that their current rating is 75%.
