Hayashi Grill, Goodyear AZ. This is great food, nice atmosphere. Owned by same couple who have Ah So Teppanaki & Sushi place at 63rd Av and Bell. Hayashi is more upscale than their Ah So location, and has a patio for use when the weather is nice. We truly enjoy both their sushi menu and the teppanaki grill. The chefs are a lot of fun as as they prepare food on the grill. Make it our business to stop in for lunch whenever we are on the far West side.
I recommend that you not eat here. New management but still overpriced poor quality poor taste food. Rude management. Same high price as similar places in Scottsdale. But far worse quality and taste.22 Oct, 2012I just passed by there today seeing a sign saying new ownership new management same great taste well the case is horrible before same great taste means that the food will be horrible overpriced just like last time should I give them another try what do you think
Excellent experience. I had the pleasure of my wife and daughter taking me out to dinner at Hayashi Sushi Bar in Goodyear, Arizona for my birthday. We arrived at approximately 6:15 to 6:30 in the evening and were seated within 5 minutes at a hibachi table. We were greeted by a waitress and our drink choices requested. When our drinks were delivered the waitress took our order and promptly served us a delicious onion soup and a salad. Although there were only the three of us at the table a cook arrived in a very reasonable time and started prepping and cooking our dinner. The cook was friendly and competent. Between us we had a steak and calamari dinner, a shrimp dinner and a scallop dinner. All food was properly prepared with the requisite flair of a teppan table and tasted delicious. I might also add the servings were more than adequate. Prices were in keeping with the general range of Japanese restaurants. Let me add that there were several signs outside indicating that the restaurant was under new management and the cook told us that the new management had instilled a new attitude in the staff and upgraded the quality of the food. It showed. We were also visited several times by the owner/manager and our waitress to check on our satisfaction. We plan to revisit the restaurant in the near future and would definitely recommend it to any readers
This unassuming place packs some good flavor into a wide variety of sushi rolls. I recommend the Honalulu Roll and a glass of the Moonstone Raspberry Sake. Nice atmosphere and attentive service. Wait was reasonable and so were prices. Highly recommend it.
The Booth that we received was very cramped. Entres were not brought out at the same time and the vegtables were cold.
Frozen sushi?. Came for happy hour and sat at the bar. There are no sushi rolls on their happy hour menu. WTF? Ended up ordering the calamari, shrimp shumai, spicy tuna roll and Honolulu roll. Everything was mediocre. The best shrimp shumai ever is at Stingray Sushi. The one at Hayashi just didn’t compare. The sushi rolls had some sort of crunch to them. It was probably the fake crab stick they put in there. Or it might have been frozen on the inside….whatever it was…wasn’t appetizing. Also, even though it was happy hour, it was still expensive. They also spelled edamame wrong on their menu. I guess that’s what you can expect from Goodyear.
