Bush’s Fried Chicken is a fast food Fried Chicken Chain that’s popular in Texas and is newly opened in Arizona. We purchased a family pack to go that contained several assorted pieces of fried chicken and two sides of macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and some soft rolls. The chicken was almost good. It was fried nicely and the crust was crisp but the exterior contained so much salt it was inedible. I was able to eat the chicken if I peeled the crust off. The macaroni and cheese contained many chemicals and was very unnatural. The rolls were also low quality and were very soft and the mashed potatoes were very peppery but contained an unnatural taste that I can’t identify. I contacted Bush’s Chicken about the unnatural taste in the potatoes and they are investigating what happened. On a bright note the bottled water I purchased was from a New York stream and was excellent..much better than most bottled water.
I’ve had Bush’s when we were staying in San Antonio and I’ve been eager to have it in Phoenix. The chicken pieces were quite large, fresh, moist, and delicious. The breading is similar to Church’s but still unique. The mashed and white gravy was unspectacular. I think I’ll try orka next time. The roll was soft, fresh, and delicious.This location has three drive-thru lanes where someone comes out to take your order. Staff was welcoming and friendly. I wish them well and look forward to my next visit.
