ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! Went to dinner at the Arrowhead Mall location. Got food poisoning. I called the manager the next day, and the Manager basically said I was lying about the food poisoning. I just called him to let him know to check the hamburger meat since I had a meatloaf sandwich. After his crappy attitude I demanded a refund and he said well I am only going to refund the sandwich, and that’s it. Then he tried telling me that he doubts their food was the cause of my sickness. I had not eaten anything within last 4 hours, and within 1 hour of eating at this place I was violently vomiting, then the diarrhea started. Was up to 1 am with both issues. I burst several blood vessels in my right eye from all the vomiting. My eye looks like cherry tomato with a pupil. You cannot tell me this was not food poisoning.I understand things happen, but the way this dickhead manager talked to me really pisses me off.It is clear, I should have drove back while I was sick, puked, and crapped all over the restaurant, then they could have had it examined for ecoli, madcow, or ebola.
Chompie’s is newly opened at Arrowhead Town Center (the Mall) located by Macy’s. This is a New York Inspired Deli Bakery and Restaurant. They are well known for offering breakfast all day and their breads and bagels. I’ve been to another Chompie’s location that wasn’t so great but what I received at this Chompie’s was MUCH BETTER. I ordered a 1/2 pastrami sandwich and a bowl of matzo ball soup. The Pastrami was rich succulent and very flavorful with some smoke. The bread is tasty Chompie’s rye. It’s not the same as East Cost Rye bread. But for Arizona Standards it’s very good. The matzo ball soup is just ok. I’ll try a different soup next time. My husband had a triple decker sandwich made of pastrami, corned beef and brisket. All the meats were very good. Cole slaw, potato salad, pickles were very good. Service was very friendly and we were checked on by many people. After lunch I went next door to the deli and purchased belly lox to bring home. As I was waiting they were giving out samples of some desserts. The chocolate filled pastry I tried was amazing. It was special to purchase belly lox. I think only Chompie’s and one other deli called Scott’s are the only ones that sell it in the metro Phoenix Area. This was a MUCH Better experience that I had from another Chompie’s. I hope they keep it up!
