AVOID!AVOID!AVOID!. So my friend and i we’re at the restaurant tonight Friday night and we ordered shepherd’s pie. It came really really greasy and we wanted to know if that was normal. The waitresses’ response was I don’t know I don’t eat meat and didn’t offer to get anybody to help come help us or ask anybody else. We get the check we pay the bill I ask for the manager at the service the station at the front desk. I’m cold I’m waiting and nobody comes up. All this time the other 20 somethingers are eating at the hostess station-major annoyance of mine! The waitress comes up and the other girl that hardly paid any attention starts obviously talking to her about the problems we’re having right in front of be me. CAN u say tacky? Is she a manager? Is it her business to tell her? No the manager should pull her aside and talk to her. Another 5 minutes goes before I left I told a girl I was leaving her she said was okay, like it was no big deal and she could care less. I’m pissed off and your service sucks. If the waitress would have gone the extra step to let us know to find out hell no I wouldn’t be this mad. I work damn hard for my money to be treated like this. If the waitress tried harder, she would have gotten more than a $2 dollar tip and now I regret even that. Furthermore, I sent an email on their website about my experience that night since I could not get anyone on the phone. I called back the next day, left a message for the manager at noon, called back and found out manager came in around 3. I waited until almost 5 with no call back so I called them. I was told (they don’t say their name on the phone- work at a doctors office- ANNOYING) that the manager was too busy to call me back because it was game day. I asked for someone above him and they could not give me any information. I looked at yelp and google and saw the horrific reviews. I called back and told the lady that I wanted the owner to call me back and not the manager because based on the reviews the problems start with him. Its Monday and no call back. I’ll be lucky if the crappy manager gives the message to him but I am mad and not done with this matter. It would have taken a few minutes of their time to talk to me instead of it being this infuriating. I would give it negative stars if I could. AVOID THIS PLACE. I want my $18.23 back. I also intend on calling Groupon and telling them my experience so they can take this into consideration when advertising for them in the future. Thank You
Farewell, McFadden’s. I used to frequent McFaddens pretty frequently, particularly as a go-to place for a good meal at a reasonable price before a hockey game. I went there last evening though and this was definitely my final trip there. Just awful experience. My party was seated within 5 minutes – so far so good. Our server was pleasant and tried to be attentive. However, she was spread across at least twice as many tables as a single server can reasonably cover, so her ability to check in with us was hampered. I don’t fault her for any of the adverse experience though. The management there should be completely scrapped. it took an hour for our food to arrive and each person in my party had a very simple meal that should have taken at most 10 minutes to make. The server confirmed that they had only 1 cook working and he was covering the entire restaurant. The establishment was filled at every table, so obviously this was horrible planning on the management’s part. When the food finally arrived, it was not what I had come to expect. I and one of my party ordered our old favorite – the fish and chips. The price had come up about $3/plate on this meal, but hey, whatever. However, when it was delivered we had half of the fish pieces over before and less than 1/4 of the fries. The coleslaw was horrible, too – and that used to be my favorite part. The portions used to be too big but this was an insane swing in the opposite direction to couple with a significant price hike. $16.99 for a kid-sized meal from McDonalds. The fish was also undercooked. The 3rd member of my party ordered a chicken club. It came out with this 1/4 inch thick triangle of chicken jerky that he literally had to take the bun off in order to find. The bun was 2 inches thick in total. Suffice it to say he got bread with a hint of chicken flavoring. Because of how horribly inefficient the service was, at this point we have 15 minutes until our hockey game started. We alerted the server to our concerns when going to pay the bill. She immediately engaged the manager, but after 10 minutes we had to flag her down to find out what was going on – we still hadn’t received a receipt to sign. She server informed us that the manager decided not to charge us but should have been by. He never appeared. Upon departing we found him hanging out on the back patio bar area, chatting and laughing with people that were obviously his friends. I haven’t had such a poor experience at any restaurant in recent memory. Stay away from this place – it used to be pretty decent but has completely fallen apart. While waiting for our food we observed much the same with other patrons – very unhappy faces and a few groups that just walked out in disgust without having gotten food served.
God awful – bad service, bad management. I never thought food preparation could ever get this slow. A hour between getting there and food served. The food itself was ok – the shepards pie had been heating for at least 40 minutes -the fish and chips came hot and good, but after the wait, hardly worth it. Asked for the manager, who argued that we hadn’t been waiting that long and was not willing to comp the meal to compensate for the incredible wait.I will NEVER, eat there again, and I am telling everyone I know to let them know what poor management runs the place and the absolutely terrible kitchen. No excuse for this – ever
Worst service and over priced. Everytime I go to mcfaddens they are very rude and all the bartenders always have really bad negative vibes…..i went to mcfaddens for my sister in laws birthday on Friday feb.8,2013 and the bartender was really rude and ignored us until we tipped him…..I don’t tip until I am leaving not after every dink I order you need to earn your tip and not by being a jerk…the bartender was also working in sweat pants and tennis shoe sitting on the bar I thought that was really ghetto and unprofessional looking. They are really pricy as well so you should at least have good customer service. Such a waste of time and money never going there again I will stick to margaritaville
Horrid. Service is horrible. Food is so-so at best and with luck not too cold when served. Staff and mang’t is rude and outright mean. Customer satisfaction is unheard of at mcfaddens. There are far better choices than this place, so unless you like be treated like dirt, not worthwhile.
Crazy crowded, but good food. Alright so I have to go a bit against the grain here and say that I actually did like this place. I wish more people had posted reviews of this place, so I could actually know what they had against it.Granted, the service wasn’t as fast as I would have liked. Then again, I went in there right before a Coyotes game and people were packed in there tighter than sardines. Despite that, we got a table immediately and when all was said and done we weren’t there much longer than about 40 minutes. For food, I got their reuben which was quite tasty, if a bit small. It did more than fill me though, so I can’t really complain. The home style fries that came with it were well seasoned, slightly crisp and delicious. My friend ordered their Irish potato soup, which she enjoyed as well. One thing that surprised me about their menu though (aside from the slightly inflated prices) was the lack of a stew. They had potato and onion soups, plus a chili… but no stew. How do you have an Irish restaurant/pub with no hardy stew? Oh well. Overall, I did enjoy their fare, and wouldn’t mind trying this place again if I’m in the area.
