Sore from Oinkment. We started with side salads and fried pickles. The salads seemed fresh but the pickles were oily and over salted. In a nutshell not all but most of what we tried (and we tried almost everything) was very dry and almost cold so it was disappointing. We tried two combo plates and between us we tried, chicken, turkey, beef rib, pork rib, hot link and brisket. Only the brisket was moist and the hot link. I was told the pork rib wasn’t as bad as the beef rib but I didn’t feel like trying that one. Even the corn bread was dry and tasted like it was from a box. All the meats I tried had good flavors but with them all being so dry and almost cold the meal was very disappointing.Maybe they are better at other times and I was here on an off time.
Avoid at all costs. This is just about the most horrid restaurant I’ve ever had the misfortune to eat at. Other reviewers have said it more eloquently, but I’ll be brief: Terrible food, rude staff, and no redeeming qualities.
Good side salad and great roasted vegetables.21 Jun, 2013Great beef short ribs and onion rings. Better bbq chicken than most. Good brisket and sauce. You could call this the boneless bbq restaurant. Cole slaw and potato salad are bland.
For a restaurant that touts itself being on a national show, this is some of the worst bbq I have ever had. Sauce is nasty.
Tried this place Friday 9/21/12. We were seated promptly and served drinks quickly. After ordering ribs, we waited and waited and waited. Waitress came by several times and said she was sorry. I was sorry I came. After another 20 minutes the waitress came and said there ran out of ribs and said they were waiting to cook more. That would have been good to know when I ordered. After waiting a good deal longer, the ribs were served. Burnt, dry and way too salty. Now I was sorry Cornbread was stale tasting and beannot fresh, beans were generic school cafeteria type from a can with minor additions of no help. Will not go back as this was poor barbeque and poor waitress communication. The only thing good was there were ample parking spots. I wonder why?
Slow service. Being born in Texas I have had a lot of BBQ, that being said, with the service as bad as it was I thought the food would have been better instead it tasted like it had been smoked days earlier and was dried out. Being a fan of Dinners, Drive-inns & Dives thought I would try it, went on a Sunday so I’m not sure if that was the problem because I went on the wrong day or not. Wish it was good
Go for the protein. Meat was great, especially the ribs. The side dishes however, were mediocre at best. Like something out of an ok deli counter. Reasonable prices. I actually like the kitschy decor.
