Pay attention to these review dates, the last one was from 2011. I’ve been to every restaurant in this area. This Chili’s was excellent when it first opened. That is not true now. The last time I was there, the fajitas were ICE COLD. Every previous visit there was always a misstep somewhere. My fiance and I avoid one server like the plague–she has the worst attitude, not sure why she still works there. All of the food that I’ve tried in the last 8 months from there has been bland or cold or a mixture of the two. Too bad because I like Chilis. This location would be good for grabbing a drink at the bar and that’s about it. I don’t like to bash establishments but credit is owed to where it is due.
A NEW CHILI’S IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD!!. I feel you really can’t go wrong when you pick Chili’s! As a family (or out as a couple), we can always stop by and get treated well….also getting a good/affordable meal that we all enjoy!Their 2 meals for $20.00 has become a very popular selection with us as there is such a wide/filling selection that we always find something we can try.We never go in without ordering their bottomless chips/salsa first with our drinks (go during happy hours!), and sometimes we get the Skillet Queso – if we want something a little more fancy than salsa. If we’re ordering off the 2 for $20 menu – our faves are (Appetizer: Texas Cheese Fries – they’ll bring it with green onions on the side, and you can have them bring them WITHOUT jalapenos (which we don’t care for.)Our choice for main dishes in the 2 for $20 menu are usually the Bacon Cheeseburgers or Half-Back Baby BBQ Ribs. They have 2 great sides to go along with your dishes, too! You can’t go wrong with this dinner! Last time, since there were 3 of us, we even decided to try their Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie to share! Omg! It was warm, gooey, wonderful, and we all dug into it!Can’t go wrong with Chili’s – even their margaritas had a lot of tequila in it!!!
Back on the plus side. One of the worst restaurant experiences I ever had was at a Chili’s in Carlsbad, NM. With all the restaurant options in town, I was in no hurry to try Chili’s again, but one day last week, Hon and I found ourselves at their front door here in Peoria. Imagine that! The good news is that they did good this time. In fact, they did great. Our waitress (dang, I can’t remember her name), was friendly and accommodating without being sickeningly sweet the way some servers are. She answered all our questions and was right there when we needed her without being suffocating.I ordered chicken and green chili soup and the steak fajita platter. Hon got the same soup and picked Margarita grilled chicken for his entree. Everything was delicious. The soup had a nice flavor without being overly heavy. I only had one of three tortillas because I’m watching carbs. The tortilla was thick and oddly spongy, so I was happy to do without. The steak, onions, and peppers were perfectly cooked and seasoned.Hon’s chicken dish was served on a HUGE pool of black beans, but he managed to finish all of it and said it was great.Chili’s in Peoria definitely changed our opinion about the chain and we’re looking forward to eating there again. For those watching their weight, they have a nice selection of Guiltless Gourmet choices. They all sounded great, too!
