Osaka is O-Sucka.. made a reservation for 7 p.m., was told to wait a few minutes at the bar so we ordered drinks. At 7:35 after we asked what was going on, we were told that we would have to wait a couple more minutes but they be happy to seat us in a few. I noticed that while the place was basically empty, there was a large party that was buying expensive drinks and shots at the bar, who were getting all the attention. When the maitre d ask us about a reservation he was very apologetic except to say that there wasn’t a place for us. If we could just possibly wait a few more minutes we might have a table. When he asked if we would like another drink I said sure if it’s on the house he said that was against corporate policy, I said what about an appetizer for our wait he said he would have to talk to the owner. At that point we closed out our bar bill and left and let them know they would not be receiving a good recommendation from us on any of the websites. To which he responded that we were being rude. BTW, we went to Flemming’s and the kitchen was running behind and without even asking, they comped our ENTIRE bill….Now, Osaka was empty and Flemmings was full…ummmmm… By, Chef Jill

We love going out to dine and when I find an excellent place to dine I want everyone to know, I’ve been here before and had great food in the past but until now the service had been somewhat slow. There has been a definite change in personnel and you can tell because, the customer service is definitely better and the new GM Chad even came over to our table to make sure we were being taken care of. The hibachi chef Sam was awesome & funny and the food was to die for the bartender Daniel served up some fantastic drinks, and our waiter Michael was right there whenever we needed something, this is definitely going to be our new place and invite friends, so if you like good Asian food or sushi this is where to go. We had a wonderful time. Thanks guys !!! see ya soon

Tepid Teppan. After dining in the sushi area several times, and enjoying ourselves, we decided to try the Teppan for my significant other’s birthday. They were (are?) running a $49 special of Salmon, Filet Mignon and lobster tail for 2.We got there just after opening for the evening (4:30 on weeknights), and were the first ones in the teppan room. Our server was really good, got us an Orion beer and 2 glasses (it only comes as a large), took our order and brought out the (typical) salad and a very nice mushroom soup. Then the teppan chef came out. Her name was ‘Rose’, and she lacked confidence and skills. She started out by dropping her cooking fork on the floor during the opening utensil drill. She then proceeded to wipe it on a cloth and continue. She didn’t do ANY egg tricks, and her onion volcano gag failed. She was very messy on the cooktop and wasted a lot more food than any other chef I’ve seen. The lobster was overdone and rubbery. The Salmon was the star of the night. She finished her gig and left. While we were eating, the other cooktop was seated and ‘Eric’ started his show. It was head and shoulders above what we had gotten. 3 egg tricks, the volcano worked wonderfully, and he was funny and engaging. Rose was neither. A little girl was in one of the parties at the other cooktop, and mum said she had asked specifically for a male chef, as the females didn’t do as well. I don’t think I’m sexist, but if Rose is any indication, then she’s right about that. The sushi is really good, the teppan is OK, but stay away from Rose.
