Love to eat here. We’ve come down to Phoenix two years running to attend football games and have eaten at Carlos O’Brien’s a half dozen times. Each visit the food was good, from the simplest items to their in-house specialties, and the service was great. Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant.
Tacos to go make the day!. If you can’t enjoy to go out to eat, order it and take it home. Wonderful food items to go.31 Dec, 2012Been going here since 1981 or 2. Ive always enjoyed Carlos OBriens over the many years of coming here. In fact back in 1981 we were going to their original location until they moved here a few years later which provided larger dining areas. The food has consistently been great and remaining with their same flavor which sets them aside from the other Mexican food restaurants.I especially like their shredded beef tacos, burritos, and the Mexican pizza with shredded beef. The salsa and chips are the best. The service is usually always good and the prices are about what youd expect to pay at most places in the valley.

The food wasn’t memorable & the waitress was rather pushy & indifferent towards us. I has the chicken chimichanga & I just wished they had season the chicken properly so that I hasn’t need to laden it with salt. Perhaps I was my palatte, either way, it’s not a place I would visit again.
Average Food, Bad Managment. The food was good, about average for the Phoenix area. The prices were also about average. The frozen margarita was above average. However, I reduced the rating I gave this restaurant because they refused to honor an ABC15 deal of the day. The deal was 50 percent of the entire bill plus one free cheese crisp per table when the Smart Shopper card was presented. The Avondale location applied the discount to only one meal, and the cheese crisp was never offered. I contacted the restaurant through their website multiple times, and never received any type of reply. There are too many good Mexican restaurants in the Phoenix area to tolerate one that doesn’t care about their customers.
