Best damn chicken in the state. I’ve eaten here numerous times for lunch, and have never been disappointed. The fried chicken lunch platter might be (as Aretha Franklin said in the Blues Brothers) the best damn chicken in the state. The BBQ brisket lunch platter is very good, the pretzel bun burgers are highly rated, and the tuna melt is also. They are pretty busy from noon to 1, so be ready to wait if you show up during that time period. I don’t understand the negative review earlier–they serve a lot of people, and I don’t see anyone complaining at all.

A Good Restaurant Turned Awful by New Management. Peppersauce Cafe reopened under new management earlier this year, and since this was my favorite restaurant for quite awhile my husband and I decided to go back for lunch today after hearing it was open again. BIG mistake. If you were used to the previous Peppersauce, don’t bother wasting your money at this new version. The food was of a very poor quality, and both my husband and I had a very hard time eating what we were served. I ended up taking two bites of the sandwich and not eating any more because it was so bad. My husband ate his sandwich but only because he had no other choice if he wanted to eat before the end of the work day.In addition to the low quality food, we were also unhappy with the service we received in the end. My husband and I have both worked in restaurants before and know that it’s pretty much restaurant etiquette 101 to not charge a customer for a meal they won’t eat due to it being poorly made and to also send over a manager when something like that happens. Try to keep your customer happy and regain their business. Instead, we never saw a manager and were charged for the full meal without anyone saying anything about it to us. I spent $27 on food that I could have made better in my own home for 20% of that price. Again, I urge anyone considering to eat here not to. It’s a waste of your money and your time, and you will leave there with nothing but disappointment left on your lips.

Disgusting. Had the pulled pork plate that was a small pile of fat with very little meat. The frys were soggy and greasy.

Horrible Service, Overpriced.. The servers there are overly rude, in person and over the phone. Our company would spend at least $100 a day there for breakfast – the manager and servers would complain to the girl that we sent to pick up the food that we made things too difficult for them with food modifications. Aside from the rude comments they consistently messed up our order, which was the same daily. Would not make change when we brought in cash and argued when we made complaints. After a while, we just gave up and moved on to Morning Star Cafe and Salsa Y Sombreros. I guess $100 a day 6 days a week was just not enough for a little common courtesy. (By food modifications, I mean asking for egg whites and no avocado… I’ve worked in that industry for years, it’s not that difficult)
