Good Meal. The family went to Sakana for dinner our last night in Phoenix. We showed up at prime time on a Friday night. The atmosphere was pretty chaotic as it was fairly crowded. To my surprise, we were still seated right away. We ordered a Ramen bowl, Udon bowl, Teriyaki chicken and a couple of sushi rolls. The meals out in decent time. The food was all good. Everyone enjoyed what they had. Service was pretty good even with the amount of tables being served. I did think the restaurant was a bit dark and was very loud. It was a little distracting. Even with that, it was a decent meal.
Food is ok here. I do not see any Japanese customers. Waitress is just terrible all the time. They are too busy doing chit chat over by bar counter. We asked no sesame for sushi roll . More than 30 min later came with sesame. They do have an attitude problem like I just work here.
Teriyaki chicken = perfection. Great flavors and price.
Great service and great food! Moonie made some awesome sushi and was fast and friendly! Go in Friday for their special fish.
My wife and I eat sushi often and have tried everything (almost) in 20 miles. Sakana is by far the best tasting an value in the valley. Give it a try
I love this Place. I never write reviews, but have finally made an exception. I have been going here for lunch EVERY FRIDAY for over 5 years. I work across the freeway and went to KOBE a few times when I first started my job, but haven’t been back since my first visit to Sakana. The staff got to know me and my regular order quite fast. I substitute a few items on the Lunch combo, and they get it going the moment I come in. They all call me by name, and I am familiar with them and their families etc… I love these guys, extremely friendly, amazing food, big portions, and great service. Try them once, and you will be a fan. There are quite a few of us regulars who all tend to get to know each other and no other sushi restaurant can compare.
Best sushi in the area. I visit from San Diego often and went to task finding my sushi fix when I am in town. Sakana is it! Excellent presentation and always fresh. Generous portions. Staff is friendly and fun!
