I’m from the Chicago area. By far the best pizza in the valley
Now THIS is Pizza. I’ve been trying different mom and pop shops to find some Pizza like I used to find in San Francisco using real quality cheese and fresh ingredients and no skimping. This has to be the best Pizza I’ve found in the Valley. I’ve only tried the thin crust so far – looking forward to trying the deep dish. Sad they don’t deliver – but it’s close enough I will drive to pick up the pies.
Best Chicago Style Deep Dish in Phoenix. I would compare it to Lou Malnati’s. Only slightly better. The sauce is so good I’m surprised they don’t offer it as a beverage.
The Best. I have been going to Vito’s for over a decade. My family started going there when I was a kid and have never left. The thin crust is very good but the deep dish is awesome. The deep dish is my favorite, but don’t try and add a bunch of toppings. It takes away from the goodness. A simple pepperoni or a pepperoni, pineapple, & ham are by far the best. Not sure I have ever had better pizza anywhere else.
See Ya Vito!!!. Since Vito Orlando and his wife Rosa sold this place the pizza took an immediate wrong turn. They either went with cheaper ingredients or they just don’t know how to make a pizza. It’s a shame because when Vito Orlando owned the place no one could touch his deep dish pizza. People came from all over the country to try it and since he left so did the pizza.
GREAT FOOD!!! GREAT PEOPLE!!. I really think this food should be on the news sometime. I think They were once on CBS but a few years back. The place has been taken over by 2 brothers. Originally from Sicily, these guys bring the bang for your dollar. The deep dish is full of flavor. The dough is great, the sauce has just the right sweetness, and the toppings are never shy on this pie. You do gotta be prepared for this baby though. They take about 45 minutes to bake, but you can call one in whenever you want, then dine in or take it home. Don’t be fooled by these imitation pizzerias who say they have the best pies. This is the one place where you will die in heaven. If you’ve never had a Chicago style Deep Dish. Definitely come here. Also, apparently the entire menu has been revamped, according to the new owners Nick and George. The old owners only had pizza and a couple sides, however these new guys have added a full course menu. Chicken dinners, Pasta dinners, Sandwiches, many appetizers, desserts and Specials that are not included on the menu that change out periodically. The owners are great guys,Nick and George are very friendly and the service we get from Chris is always at its best. Fridays and Saturdays seem to be the busiest. People are always coming and going. If you decide to dine in on either of those days, we were told its best to make a reservation. However any other day is pretty steady and a walk in is A-OK. It’s a shame they are only open from 3pm to 10pm. I would be stopping by for lunch everyday. The place isn’t in the best area though, meaning the shared plaza businesses don’t all seem to fit together. What’s even more sad is it’s hidden behind the over rated Sonic’s right on the corner of 43rd ave and Northern. I believe the dinning area seats about 30+ people. A very quaint and cozy place. I did see pictures of the inside before these guys took over, and man did they do a major face lift on the inside.I highly recommend stopping in if your in the Glendale area.
Fabu-licious!Quiet little place in a sketchy looking strip mall in Glendale. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover though! We ordered the deep dish regular cheese pizza with garlic added in. It takes 45 minutes for a deep dish pizza. In the meantime, we ordered garlic cheese bread and fried zucchini for appetizers. Both delicious. The pizza finally arrived and it was AMAZING! Probably the best deep dish pizza I’ve ever had. For dessert, we ordered the Tirmasu, which was heavenly. The service was great. Very attentive and brought us whatever our demanding, large party wanted. They even allowed us to bring our own wine and drink it there. No corking fee. When we arrived at 6:30pm, the restaurant was empty, but by the time we left at 7:45pm, there were several tables filled and lots of people stopping in to get take out. I will definitely come back to this little, hidden gem. It’s worth the wait for the deep dish pizza! You can even call ahead and pick it up when it’s ready. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.
