We stopped in for dinner on a Thursday evening and decided to sit at the sushi bar. Server was very attentive as was the head chef who was working opposite us at the bar. Ordered exclusively off of the specials menu and everything was outstanding! The albacore sashimi was incredible. Make sure you don’t skip desert as all of the ice cream is made in house and well worth it. The chef recommended the espresso ice cream which he made earlier in the day. Might be the best ice cream I have had anywhere.
Terrible service!. My wife and I decided to try Yasu last night. Big mistake! We started by ordering grilled beef appetizers and a couple of 17 oz. beers. After 30 minutes only one appetizer came out and the waitress told us that she forgot to place the second order. We ordered two more beers and she put a rush on the second order. Twenty five minutes later no sign of the second appetizer or the waitress. We flagged the hostess down and asked her to get our check. She went into the open kitchen and talked briefly with the owner/chef and next the waitress came to the table and informed us that we would have to pay for the entire order because it was being prepared. She told us that we would have to be patient and understand that they were busy. After another conversation with the chef our check arrived, just four beers and the one appetizer, on the house. We paid the check as we consumed the beers ant the one appetizer. The chef should watch the movie Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Then he might understand a little on how to run a Japanese restaurant. I should forget to rate the food, beef was tough and almost cold, the beers were good. $46.00 for a bad experience. We left and went to Ra in Tempe and as always had a wonderful dinner.
Average sashimi at best, but the sushi leaves something to be desired. Service has been inconsistent and unapologetic. My husband and I ordered chefs choice and it was all the most expensive items on the menu. Will not be returning.
Very friendly environment as well as world class sushi chefs! Yasu, the manager was great. Not only was the sushi amazing but by far the most fresh I’ve experienced here in the valley! Very unique menu!
What a waste of time.. I waited for my simple take-out for nearly two-hours. After which, a very rude bartender came and told me that the new hostess had never placed the order. He was so inconsiderate and I felt angry that he didn’t put a rush on the order and get it to me right away. He just stood there handing my credit card back to me. I felt so angry and seriously offended by the whole place. It is surrounded in awards but the staff is completely incompetent. Ugh, I hate places like this!
Wonderful sushi and friendly service. I had a wonderful mackeral salad and wild ocean trout carpaccio which the sushi chef paired with a glass of wine for me. Truly wonderful sushi and service. I can’t wait to go back – I want to try their garlic miso clams!
Yum. Pricey, but very good. We tried the spicy Tuna roll, bacon wrapped asparagus, teriyaki spare ribs, shrimp tempura. I recommend all of these. Pass on the wasabi chicken, it’s fairly bland.
