If you’re like me and bored with the bland Mexican fare at almost every place in Prescott, then you should give this place a try. They’ve got all the standards on their menu, but also some more interesting items. Chicken Mole Enchiladas are always good. I just tried the Asada Poblano dinner which was loaded with spicy pepper flavors in a great sauce served on top of really good beef. Maybe this place isn’t popular because it’s hidden away in the back room of the Dinner Bell and only open for dinner. Maybe people are discouraged by the downtown parking, but you can park behind the restaurant in the evenings without fear of being towed as the ominous signs warn. Prices are good, especially considering that all entrees come with excellent soup or salad, so you get your money’s worth and a large quantity of food. Give it a try.

The manager told me that he forgot to put this dish on the recently re-done menu, so it’s permanently posted on the door as you enter. He also told me that this is a Jalisco-style mol, if that means anything to you. What’s really important is that this jet black substance has a rich dark chocolate note and a medium chile kick. It’s delicious. The enchiladas are loaded with shredded chicken and the refried beans and rice are tasty. Like all the entrees here, you get a choice of soup or salad and ice tea if you want it. If you’ve been looking in vain for mol at other area restaurants, this is a good one to try. If you’ve never had mol before, just do it.16 Jun, 2012Sonido para la comida. Owned by the same folks that own the Dinner Bell Cafe, this Mexican restaurant has relocated into the Dinner Bell’s rear creekside dining room. It’s open for dinner only, to not conflict with the Dinner Bell’s breakfast and lunch hours. Because of the evening schedule, they’ve made arrangements for convenient parking in the rear in an adjacent office building lot. The menu seems about the same as the old location, and they serve margaritas, beer, and wine. It’s a typical Mexican menu, with a few interesting options not easily found at other Mexican restaurants in the area. Entres include your choice of soup or salad.17 Mar, 2011Ol Mol!. A good Mexican restaurant and the only one in town where you might find mol on the menu, albeit as a nightly special. The same owner as the Dinner Bell. Terrible margaritas.
