Nothing really special but the menu is Sonoran style, not your basic Mexican. Chimichangas and cheese crisps. Worth a try if you’re new to Arizona. Kinda salty. Your better option for this kind of food is Olivas’ in Prescott Valley.
Mexican food for gringos. I felt the food was very middle of the road. The service was adequate but on the slow side. However, the deal breaker, was charging extra for the second bowl of chips while we were waiting for our meal. Suffice it to say I have now been to the El Charro Restaurant twice……..the first time and the last time. There are a number of Mexican food restaurants in our town that serve more authentic food and don’t nickle/dime you.
Great food, great staff, great all around. I’ve been going there every Friday night since I was a kid, so over 30 years now!! The recipes have not changed which is terrific – reliable good food every time! They have several plates I eat regularly- Carne Asada stuffed rellenos, the grilled fish tacos – which comes with the most delicious garlic cilantro ranch sauce, and their fajitas – steak or chicken or shrimp – are amazing. They have drink specials every night and I love to get their homemade white Sangria, they also have red -I just prefer the light crispy white wine! They have happy hour Monday – Friday, with $3 margaritas and draft beers – the most Mexican beers I’ve seen on anywhere on draft. Great food, I’ll continue to be back for another 30 years!!
Good food needs more seasoning. Waitress in particular need to learn to pick up plates and not rely on the bus boy. If a half portion of shrimp fajitas is 8 shrimp a double portion should be 16 not 9!!!!!!
Most authentic Mexican I have ever ate. Chelsea our server/bartender was excellent as well as the other staff. should I ever find myself in Prescott Arizona again I would definitely eat here and recommend!
First off the service was awesome.. everyone was really friendly.. the food was filling and I liked the rice and beans buuuuut the carnitas (while it was good) was a bit bland..
Friendly, but in attentive & slow service, clean store & restroom. Had chile rellenos & enchilada. Both bland & not particularly flavorful. We won’t be back
