Yet another Prescott cheap and cheerful Mexican restaurant. The food is cheap but it’s not that great. The green tamale is good except that everything, including this, is extremely salty. No alcohol, although you can bring your own.
Neighborhood Gem. A hole in the wall sized restaurant that makes you feel at home and sets you back 50 years in time! Authentic, very good Mexican cooking at very reasonable prices. We like their daily lunch specials and freshly made guacamole. They also cook seafood very well. Lastly, you can bring your own beer, wine or other libation and there is no extra charge for this. Highly recommended.
Revisit. Yet another Prescott cheap and cheerful Mexican restaurant. I’m going to have to downgrade my rating because although the food is cheap it’s not that great. The green tamale is still good except that everything, including this, is now extremely salty.30 Jul, 2011Chicken Mol Enchiladas. Two large enchiladas stuffed with dark meat and covered with dark mol sauce. Rice and beans included. Not a ton of mol flavor but good chicken taste.30 Jul, 2011Green Corn Tamale. Available ala carte, it’s served on a corn husk. Small but tasty with very good green sauce.30 Jul, 2011No Lard. Popular with the local vegetarians, this very unpretentious place seats only about 40 people. Good and cheap but no alcohol, although you are encouraged to bring your own.
Best in Prescott. After having a terrible Mexican food experience in Prescott, I ate at a little family owned Mexican restaurant with a much more authentic feel. The food is amazing quality. I had the carnitas taco lunch special with rice and beans, and homemade chips+salsa for $6.25. The carnitas were delicious!! Their menu has some creative options as well. I learned they do accept cards for purchases over $10. Wish I would have found this place earlier in my stay.
It’s about great food not necessarily atmosphere. I would definitely come again if in Prescott!
You can bring beer in to this restaurant! Great place to go for some seriously local offerings like prickly pear cactus tacos or javelina burritos.
The Most Tender Carnitas Ever!. A family run small mexican restaurant, located on Montezuma St a few blocks south of the Square. It’s all homemade, the salsa has chunky with a kick. This chips are made from the same home made tortillas. I had the carnitas, and they were so tender, unbelievable. My wife had the Wet Burrito stuffed with a Chili Relleno, excellent. Be advised no beer, wine, or well drinks, only water, soft drinks, coffee, and tea, and CASH Only.
