Great!. Traveling through the area and Murphy’s was recommended. Great food, the salmon was delicious and the service and staff were the best. Nicest dinner on our trip around the southwest. We recommend it highly.

Poor food, higher prices. I was excited to eat at Murphy’s because I hadn’t been in at least 10 years and it was known to be a great restaurant at the time. It’s clearly gone down hill. The hollandaise sauce for the Oysters Rockefeller was extremely bland and we didn’t even get a full half dozen- it was only 5 oysters for $15. The Cajun Shrimp entree for $16 was 5 average size shrimp in a pool of watery sauce. The shrimp were undercooked (ew-who likes raw shrimp!?) The Jamaican jerk bar steak wasn’t Jamaican jerk in the least- it was smothered in a sweet BBQ sauce. Seems as though they’ve become complacent at Murphy’s. Definitely not worth the price.

Now with less menu. Murphy’s has trimmed down their menu to two pages and features appetizers, pasta, steaks, and seafood. The quality of the food is very good but it’s no bargain. I think they deserve a better user rating than what they have here but you can get the same quality at higher rated restaurants in town for the same price or less.08 Jan, 2012Oysters ala Prescott. Where else can you get fresh raw oysters on the half shell in Prescott? Duh. Nowhere. As an appetizer in the dining room they are excellent but tiny and $3 each. But then, I’m spoiled by having lived on the Gulf Coast.08 Jan, 2012Tombo blackened tuna with wasabi mustard beer sauce. A nightly special that surprised with an Asian influence in this steak and seafood restaurant. Blackened but not overly seasoned, I ordered this dish medium rare and it certainly was, melting in the mouth and nicely complemented by the sauce.

I’m new to the area and was told to try Murphey’s. I LOVED IT. The service was helpful, informative, and friendly. The food was fresh and very tasty. I had the salmon, my mom had crab cakes, and my fianc had the surf and turf. We were all very satisfied with our food. We also indulged in dessert. I strongly recommend the chocolate cake and carrot cake. The chocolate cake was reminiscent of a hoho but better! I will definitely be back!

Argumentative service, incorrectly made drink. We were treated very agressively by a brunette pony-tailed female bartender on duty the evening of 5/31/12 when one of us complained a dirty martini had been made incorrectly (with citrus.) All four of us could taste it in the drink, but this young lady insisted she had made it correctly and refused to taste it herself to see she was wrong. She was loudly argumentative about it in front of other customers which is not the way to treat a customer, especially when 4 of us tasted the drink all agreed the drink was made wrong and had been made with citrus or had been made in the same shaker that a previous citrus drink had been made. We are not kids, but adults in our early 60s. We go here very frequently, now we will NEVER return. (We had complained about poor and surly service to the on-duty manager in the past who was also on duty last evening (Tom); in the past we were told that finding help to work here was a problem and they had to put up with the people they could get.
