Formerly a JB’s franchise, now rebranded Prescott Junction Restaurant, sits on the junction of Hwy 69 & 89 off Sheldon in Prescott. Upon entrance, you are enticed by a vast dessert display of pies and baked goods. The staff was changing over from breakfast buffet(ends at 11am) to salad bar so they were not very attentive to incoming guests. I was glad to see they must have a cellphone policy cuz NOT ONE employee was seen on their phone. However, many stood around unproductive like zombies, probably dreaming of their cellphones. The menu was pretty diner generic, pushing a discount on Pie Slices with meal. I opted for the Salad Bar since they are mostly extinct in this generation and $10.70 seemed fair. The bar offered fresh fruit, mixed salads, 3 soup choices, taco/nacho bar, and greens/toppings/dressings. My pickings were slim as most mixed salads and fruits were not to my liking or condiments cut too large, not bite-size salad appropriate. The soups, not sure if declared homemade, but tasted rather bland. The nacho/taco bar excited me, but only offered cheese and ground beef, no diced tomatoes, sour cream, olives, and chips/corn shellswere stale. I took up the Pie Slice discount and ordered my favorite flavor, Coconut Cream. It tasted traditionally as it should, but the pudding felt gummy & dense so I assumed it was a couple days from fresh. Disappointed in quality, yes. Dissatisfied with service and price, No. Convenient location definitely.
This locally owned restaurant feels like a chain restaurant. Breakfast buffet or menu in the mornings, Soup, salad, and fruit bar the rest of the day. The large menu consists of your basic generic American food.
What a well kept secret. Great food, great price, and great people! And who knew, JB wishes their food was this good. Great to see they are not under that corporate umbrella, gave the Junction a bad name!
New Name, Same Restaurant. JB’s has changed their name but it’s still pretty much the same menu.18 Jun, 2011$alad Bar. This locally owned small chain restaurant is a lot like Coco’s. Breakfast bar or menu in the mornings, Soup, salad, and fruit bar the rest of the day. Any entree or sandwich can substitute onion rings for fries for $1.29. The mediocre soup and salad bar seems pricey at $2.49 as an add-on.
Here’s a great family spot with great food and service. Oldies on the box makes this a blast from the past.
