Normally, we love this place. Tonight must have been an off night for our waiter. We had a group of 4. Our drink orders came out fine. Entrees were delivered, except mine. Apparently it was dropped and they were making another one for me, which never arrived. Our waiter never came back to check on drinks, never asked if our food was good. Never apologized that I did not receive my food, never asked if there was anything else we wanted. Very poor service tonight for a restaurant that is usually amazing. Hopefully next time will be a better experience!To follow up:Barley Hounds website has a website where you can tell them about your experience, so I did. They quickly responded, apologized for the bad experience and gave us a gift certificate in case we were willing to try the restaurant again. We went back and I cant happily report that the food and service were amazing.
Went back again…service is attentive but relaxed, excellent range of choices for a relatively small menus. If you want vegan, or gluten free options, beautifully presented and creative, this is a great choice. If you want fish or steak or chicken….mmmmmm! Bacon and chicken skin wrapped and deep fried scallops-who even thinks that up! Harley. And the fries…and take the pup-outside seating and water bowls!
If you’re looking for a creative gastropub style menu in Prescott you’ve got 2 choices, here and Black Hole. Compared to BH, this place has a more extensive food and drink menu, but isn’t a microbrewery. Menu selections are pretty exotic for this town, and not cheap, but really good. There’s a large outdoor dining area as well as indoor seating. The music playing was not intrusive and geared to a younger crowd, and most of the patrons are younger, something you don’t see much of around here.
