It seemed very promising, but ended up being quite a disappointment. The initial meal came right away, but that was the end of the positive experience. Fish in the fish tacos was like jerky – way over cooked. Our drinks went empty for most of the meal. Had to ask for refills, and they took a long time. Ordered sopapillas for desert and they took almost 30 minutes to come after the order. They were heavy and doughy. Not cooked fully I think. I could not recommend this resturant after that experience.
Ajo Al’s remains as my favorite Mexican Food in the Valley. The Cheese Crisps are excellent, the shredded beef Tacos are the best! If you want to spice it up, ask for their green salsa, served on request.
Ajo Al’s has been a family favorite for over two decades. We enjoy the Premium White Chicken breast they use in all their related dishes. Other family members indulge in the Shredded Beef Tacos and finish the meal off with the deep fried Ice Cream.
Wasn’t too impressed. I am not sure if it is just the location, but I found Ajo Al’s to be rowdy and the food was just OK. I might be willing to try another location, but overall, I was not impressed.
Awesome. I came here when in December when I was visiting some family. I’m from Ohio. This was just a great mexican restaurant and I would love to come back. Hopefully when I make the move to Arizona, I will.
Best Hot Sauce. I’m a native Phoenician so needless to say I’ve been around block and back on Mexican Food. Ajo Al’s is my last stop! It’s fresh and always served piping hot! You have several choices of salsa’s too but my fav is their red hot sauce. If you enjoy your food spicer than most, Like I do, then just ask your server to kick it up a notch. It’s family owend and operated, NOT a chain. The Dad, Mom and kids are always working away in all of their locations so you know you are getting the real deal! Accomodating, friendly people who are invested in making you happy.
Bland Mexican. Ajo Al’s used to be one of my more favorite restaurants. Always dependable. I went tonight and boy was I disappointed. I had the pork filled Chimi with green sauce on top. The Chimi wasn’t fried. Maybe baked for a little but the flour tortilla was soft and had no crunch at all. The pork filling was over cooked pork that had add grilled (and flavorless) onions. On the up side was that the waiter was pleasant and the rice and refried beans good. Not great but good.
