Best Indian Food in North Scottsdale. That really good Indian restaurant in the Phoenix area has eluded us – we’ve tried at least 10 that were supposed to be it. So this time no one recommended Al Hamra – it’s just been on my way home for as along as it’s been open. It was worth stopping – very good lamb vindaloo and a variety of other dishes that we tried. My wife liked the samosa but I was thinking ‘so so’. All in all the chef has a fine touch and the food is very solid and well above average, although a bit pricey (as you might expect for the location). Recommended.

Great food. I have eaten at many indian places and this one is among the top. Service was great and the atmosphere is very nice. The food is very tasty and light. Two thumbs up.

Nice atmosphere. Food ran the gamut from really good (the rice, pappadums, naan) to good (Lamb kamachi) to bad. My lamb boti tandoori came out well done not rare, and it tasted more like mutton. (There was A LOT of chewing involved.) 3 of 4 restaurants are closed in this food area and this place was not busy for dinner rush on friday. For the price, there are better places to eat Indian.

Great food and the Naan bread was the best I’ve ever had. The curry dishes were just right with a good blend of heat.
