A touch of Italy. I have been here several times with friends. Food is fresh and delicious. Service is friendly and fast. Ambiance is improving as time goes on. It is a BYOB place but they charge $4.50 if you bring a can of beer and drink it from the can. I guess they don’t really want you to BYOB. I understand the charge if they open and cork a bottle of wine but $4.50 to do nothing? Tacky.
My husband had read a few favorable reviews and suggested we try it. While there is not much ambience the quality of the food and warm, friendly service more than made up for it. The owner/chef is from Palermo, Italy and obviously knows what he is doing. From the most delicious warm, freshly baked bread to the sumptuous deserts, everything was outstanding. Give this place a try and support a local business
A Winner. Always looking for a BYOB, we paid our first visit to Basil & Garlic Bistro last Tuesday. Like all former New Yorkers, we are particular about our pizza and this was wonderful. We started with a Chicken Caesar Salad which came with some great fresh baked bread. We had a nice Toscana and we’ll be back with friends this week.
Great food, large portions, friendly staff. What more could you ask for?
