Not what I thought. I was expecting fine dining at a steakhouse. They served foie gras on a bun. Foie gras was good but the bun wasn’t. It masked the flavor of the meat. Lettuce salad was ok, not good lettuce though. My husband had a dry filet mignon. There were no meat juices. They should’ve added a red wine reduction. We were so disappointed with the whole meal we didn’t order desert b/c we didn’t want to be disappointed AGAIN. How are they rated so highly? It had to be a bribe.
Great service!!!!. My brother was casually telling me he thought his portion of lobster was smaller than he expected when a bus person over heard him. Two minutes later the manager brought another plate of lobster and crab. He was apologetic and wanted to make sure our experience was as great as possible. This proactive step will keep me coming back and telling my friends about Bourbon Steak!!!!
This place was a huge let down. First off I was annoyed that their was no parking, instead I was forced to go through valet. Then once we got inside it was very nice, the staff was very professional. To start off I ordered the black olive Cesar, it was horrible. The chef used nothing but the spine of the leaves and the baby center to create the salad, with a tasteless fat free Cesar dressing that was barely sprinkled on there. Then when I was ordering the main course I asked the waitress how big the serving were and she told me they were family style, having been a regular at bucca de bepo I figured family style meant another of food! …WRONG! the portion I receive was barely enough to feed my kid sister, who is only 7 and weighs 50lbs. For the main dish I chose the EXTREMELY overpriced 12oz. NY strip, expecting a big mouthwatering steak overflowing with spices and flavor I was very quickly let down once my meal came out. The steak was cooked properly, medium rare, however it was very bland. Absolutely NO flavor. Very lightly salted and just slapped on a grill. The char marks weren’t exactly charred how they were supposed to be, they were burnt due to the grill not properly being greased. Ontop of all this the steak was flat. It had no size or definition to it at all, i basically got down right robbed of my $41 for a $7 steak at walmart. The grade of meat was terrible. The chef should be ashamed of himself. I’ve had better steaks at outback! Since the last two meals were a screw up a ignorantly decided to give it a 3rd try at the dessert menu. Boy was a wrong, the chocolate molten cake was very good, but way too small to satisfy anybody. All together this disaster raked me over the coals for a hard $265 ..then to add insult to injury I had to pay the valet guy! Which I didn’t ask for to begin with! All in all this place sucked and I got robbed. The food was not good and I actually left hungrier then I came. Straight to in-n-out my family and I went afterwards. Bourbon Steak will NEVER receive my business again!!
A mixed and expensive experience. We needed last minute Thanksgiving reservations and took a chance on Bourbon Steak (BS). The multi-course seasonal menu was a pleasant suprise. Turkey, accompaniments and desert were all expertly and creatively prepared and despite everything we’d heard, an excellent overall value. This year I brought my parents here for my father’s birthday and ordered off the regular menu. Unfortunately, our most recent experience mirrored most of the reviews here. The bar area and entry were stylish and elegant. The dining room itself was on the boring side, concrete block walls with no view. Acoustics were poor (empty or full) and made worse by a slightly too loud 80’s playlist. The complimentary chef’s fries were tasty but small for a table of five (same portions for a party of 2) The calimari was undercooked and the coating a bit doughy. The tapioca encrusted snapper was a repeat favorite. The crab cakes were flaked so finely that they were almost textureless (a minus). The medium-rare strip steaks (billed as extra tender) were…not. The deserts were perfect. The service was courteous and professional. The bill was quite high side relative to restaurants of similar standing. In summary: I’d go here for special seasonal menus or happy hour specials. But they need to up their game and lower their prices to be a regular favorite.
Really expensive. The Wild Salmon was excellent but everything else was good but not outstanding. The restaurant is very noisy due to all hard surfaces. Hard to hold a conversation with your fellow diners. The tab was $100 per person (before tip) not including drinks.
Not the best Steak in Town but good.. The building / internal build out is worth seeing. It’s on the high side for the price to value.
Just when I thought steak couldn’t get better. Was blown away be celeb chef Michael Mina’s steakhouse Bourbon Steak, located in the Scottsdale Fairmont. A wide variety of inventive appetizers (goodbye lame old Iceberg Wedge!!) got the evening off to a flying start. Try the foie gras sliders. Life changing!! Steaks that are slowly poached in butter then mesquite grilled. Most tender steak I’ve ever had (try the ribeye cap). To top it all off, the service was second to none. Tons of knowledge without the attitude. My server also told me of 1/2 off bottles of wine to AZ residents starting Monday October 26th and goes on all season! Bravo Bourbon Steak
