Let the grumpy old man go!. Experience is great always every time I go to this Chompies. Except for the time I was helped by the unhappy, hates his life old man. He acted like I was doing him a disservice for giving him business and having him grab me more than 1 item. The food that I was given that was with his dirty fingers touching and horribly prepared entree. Might not be back. Bad move grumpy old man.
Miserable Management. Trickles down to the staff.. We’ve had dinner at different two different Chompie’s locations. The service is always poor. We wait too long for our meal and the staff at both locations, Shea and Tatum, seem like they would rather be doing something else.I stopped in last friday to pick up a deli order and was greeted by the manager/owner, who after berating me for not knowing exactly what I wanted, proceeded to scream at his staff for not doing their jobs. That might work in Manhattan, but not in Scottsdale, AZ.My family will NEVER go back to Chompie’s. Deli. Instead, we will go to Goldman’s Deli which has a much better reputation.
Waitress laughing in my face. My wife and I go out to eat often. We had just been out the night before. We went to my wifes Doctors appointment in Scottsdale where she didnt get the best news. Her appointment was at 10.00.After leaving her appointment aroud 11:00 oclock I figure we would stop and get something to eat and talk about her appointment.Well we stopped at Chompies,at the corner of Shea and 92nd street.Already eating out this week we wanted to not spend a whole lot. When we walked in a server handed my wife an add.She said they had a promo gong on to act likee a kid,and haned us a kids menu. She said the portions were still good size and adults could order from it.My wife desided on a cheeseburger meal. It came with a cookie and my wife is a diabetic. She aked if she could see the cookie. The waitressed laughed at her.My wife said realy I would like to see the cookie. When the waitress brings it ,my looks at me and says this looks to sweet it had chocolate sprinkles all over it.My wife asked if she could swap it for a kids fruit cup or a regular cookie. The waitress says no.When the waitress comes back to get our order I asked to talk to the Manager on duty. The waitress kneels down so her face is even with mine and says loudly talk to the manager over a kids meal cookie and starts laughing loudly inches from my face.Im a guy and it truely scared me.I said YES I want to speak to the manager. Her breath was awful inches from my face. Then the manager comes.Keep in mind we eat out often and have been here before. The manager says NO,we cant do that.I told her about the waitress. She said sorry I will speak to her.Well maybe she lost only tweenty dollars on this meal ,but she also lost frequent customers.I cant believe it.I told her we were going to leave.Instead of saying hang on I will get another waitress she said see you next time.Next time I will spend my money somewhere else.If anyone knows who to report this to let me know.
Ramblings of a Beggar. There is no way to describe this food that properly provides due justice for what it deserves. This place has saved my life emotionally, relationally, and physically. Upon first opening the door to not only Chompies, but to a better life, you aren’t completely sure what you’re walking into. You gaze at the beautiful art on the wall and whether you’re black, white, brown, catholic, atheist, republican, dremocrat, whatever; you’ll instantly feel at home in this temple of goodness. You’re seated by a waitress who’s in the beautiful stage of life where there’s a vibe of experience mixed with a dash of youthful energy. Soon enough, there’s a plate of complimentary pickles in front of you and you feel amomg family. But its the moment of your first bite of your meal that you enter a world of wonder, beauty, and euriphia. This place has saved me in every way a person can be saved. I don’t even have a picture – it exists now only in my memory. On the occasions where my life has taken a trip down a heart wrenching path and I’ve hit my rock bottom, I’m ready to end it. But as soon as I get a bite of chompies in me, and I digest the food of rejuvenation and second chances, I am instantly reassured that everything will be okay. When I am weak, it gives me strength. When I am down, it lifts me up.When I am tired, it gives me energy. When I am in hell, it takes me to heaven.Chompies gets the job done in more ways than can be named.
Food was ok , not as fabulous as in years past. The bakery items were dry, not flaky or moist . Some to the point of stale and inedible. Not the same quality as from prior years. Sorry Chompies.
Went to chOmpies to try the sliders seen on man v food. The food was terrible the brisket was dry and the gravy tasted like it was out of a can terrible experience all together. Then to top it off I left my sunglasses on the table and yeah I know my fault right. But when I came back to get them the waiter said yeah I seen them and Told me he seen someone grab them then the manager went to look at the camera and came back with a look like someone took them and told me I’m sorry it was really blurry on the camera and gave me 60 dollars worth coupons. Now tell me why would you give someone 60 dollars credit just becAuse they claim they left sun glasses there. Real classy chompies nice establishment you have there. So needless to say not only did I waste 70 dollars on meal that wasn’t good I also had a pair of 225 dollar Oakley crosshairs stolen and they admitted I had left them there. Phil was the bus boys name who prob took them congrats to you Phil cause you would never have been able to purchase those on your own.
Deli counter. Wow what a wonderful experience I had at this Chopmies. A deli man who knows what he’s doing. Looks like a old hippy but knows his stuff. Help me figure out what I needed for a family reunion and the food he got me was wonderful and exactly what I needed. He picked out great fish, boned a whitefish and put everything on a platter for me. Hope he’s a keeper
