This is an Italian Grocery Store and restaurant without a public restroom. I tried the specialty of the restaurant that is the BROASTED Chicken. It’s like fried but different and is suppose to be healthier with less oil and fat. My chicken was very dry and not seasoned well. My platter came with an average salad and broasted potatoes that were delicious. My husband had the house made hot Italian sausage sandwich. It would have been VERY GOOD but the sausage was over cooked till dry. Maybe I hit them on an off day? Service was very good and above average.
Stumbled on Guido’s, and It’s Good. Hadn’t heard about the place but happened to be driving by at lunch time and stopped. Doors wide open with small sidewalk seating in the shopping area on the NE corner of Shea/Scottsdale. Clean, neat, friendly and GOOD. Definitely a bias toward Chicago style sandwiches, pizza and Italian style dishes. Had the Chicago roast beef sandwich with sausage and peppers, and au jus. Au hell – tasty! Will be back.
Can’t believe the eats here!!!!!. Well we made it back today and enjoyed another visit. This time I tried the Personal Sized Pizza with Italian Sausage & Pepperoni. It was better than good but not the best Ive had, however Id have to the Pizza a 4 on the 1 to 5 scale. And again my wife couldnt do anything but go for the broasted chicken with fries. If you dont know what broasted is you must go and enjoy this way of cooking. We also enjoyed the side salads with Italian dressing again. The service was outstanding today while we enjoyed our lunch. When I walked around looking at some of the canned items from Italy that they sell I couldnt help but notice in the back booth that the cook was taking his lunch break. This was where I noticed that he had a large platter of flat ribbon pasta cooked with an assortment of veggies and some type of sauce. The vegetarian pasta looked so very good Ive got to try it next time. I asked the waitress about this dish and she said it wasnt on the menu. However Im sure that if asked theyll make it the way you want it. All of their meats, veggies and cheeses are fresh and so outstanding. You cant go wrong ordering most anything here.08 Dec, 2012Slow, mistakes, and errors :-(. On this visit I have to say it was not the best. I was very disappointed in the poor service from waiting on the customers at their tables to the cooks back in the kitchen area. Service was slow, the cooks didnt have the correct items on the plate as it was ordered and the dish had to be returned. The billing at the end of the meal was wrong and needed to be corrected. This took additional time to fix as it required more attention than what it should have. The overall visit was less than what I would have expected and very disappointing. I will try it again in hopes that this was just a bad day for them. My other two earlier visits were just fine without issues.21 Nov, 2012I’ll be back. No complaints here, we had the sausage sandwich (Italian) which was very tasty and cooked well. My wife enjoyed broasted chicken with potato wedges and enjoyed it. Both items were better than most other places weve tried. The deli was very clean and well organized, the service was great, and the prices were about what youd expect to pay for them. Theres a large menu to choose from. BEST spumoni ice cream!!!! Dont leave without trying some.
Minestrone soup is to die for! Caprese salad -so so fabulous. It’s like a little grocery store in Italy.
I had lunch here today or I should I took out my lunch. I ordered the sausage sandwich. The sausage was raw! I will try it again but watch the sausage. Next time I’ll try a deli sandwich. Disatisfied but hopeful.
The real deal. Awesome sandwiches and the best cannolis in AZ.
