Wood-fired to perfection!. Just had the most AMAZING meal at Il Bosco last night! It’s a small restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. For a small restaurant, it was very smartly planned out to maximize the space available without feeling cramped. It’s a little thing, but how nice it was to have a table large enough to accomodate all the food we ordered! They have a specialized menu that is definitely worth stopping in to try. They don’t have a cooktop/stove or a microwave, just their wood-fired oven and everything we ordered was fantastic! Their meatballs are made in house and baked in their oven. Our munchkin made a meal out of the meatballs ~ al forno. We started with the roasted vegetables w/burrata, which was delicious. The burrata was soft and creamy. Just perfect! I could have made a meal out of just that! We also had the caprese which was done a little unconventionally but it’s my new favorite way to have it! I can’t even begin to describe how delicious it was and do it justice. You’ll just have to try it! We shared a Biaggia pizza and again… trying to describe how perfect it was is impossible! I will say that it had a thin crust that was done by hand (they don’t have a mixer to make the dough!) and baked to perfection. The slight saltiness of the prosciutto was balanced out nicely with the sweetness of the figs and the goat cheese was the perfect compliment to the flavors. Obviously we ordered too much food for two and a toddler, but we somehow managed to finish everything. We just couldn’t help but stuff ourselves silly because the food was just that good!We would have expected to pay quite a bit more than what we did for such a wonderful meal. With the prices being so reasonable, we can afford to go more frequently and to try every pizza on their menu! I mean, who ever heard of a menu with nothing more than $11 (well, other than the alcoholic beverages) that was dare I say gourmet in quality? I can hardly wait to go for lunch and try their panninis!

Excellent Food, Service and Fun!. We went to Il Bosco Pizza for the first time last week. It was fantastic. Great food, excellent pizza, salads and other wonderful choices. The owner, Bill Forrest, oversees everything and is very customer service and quality oriented. The atmosphere is fun and creative. It is a hidden gem in Scottsdale, right by Handlebar J’s but once you have been, you will go back again and again!!!!!
