Great food. We visit Scottsdale one time a year and always eat here for dinner. Love the entire concept . Glad it has kept the concept started back when it was a one person crew. I do enjoy that we know can make reservations on line and use a credit cards.
Romantic setting with good food. My wife, the Princess, and I had dinner for a third time at Cafe Monarch last night. It was a bit cold so we sat inside, otherwise I would recommend the lovely courtyard. In my view this is a place for two people that are sharing the evening (or life) to have dinner, everyone else is intruding. The set menu has had some great choices when we’ve dined here and the food is very good and priced fairly but not a bargain. For a special night I had roses delivered from a nearby florist and they were nicely arranged on our reserved table when we arrived. The service is pretty good, but don’t expect the orchestrated service you get at a Houston’s…. set out to enjoy the evening with your woman (or dude), relax for a couple hours, power down the phones, drink some wine and have Uber give you lift home or to whatever is next.
Super delicious and the atmosphere is awesome I had a very romantic dinner by myself with the butterflies , water fountain and candles….. Worth every penny the desert wine is a must if you like sweet wine ….. Enjoy
Feels Like Home. We enjoyed the ambiance and food at Cafe Monarch! It’s tucked away on 1st Avenue in Scottsdale off the beaten track, and on this cool and rainy evening – felt very comfortable. It’s prix fixe, $45, plus drinks. We enjoyed the salad and then had the two choices for entree – scallops and pork osso buco. Each was prepared perfectly, and the desert was excellent, too. The waiter was good – and the only quibble is that that fellow picking up plates as we finished stopped 3 times to ask if we were done, when we were clearly not. Once is fine, 3 times is not good training. The rest of the evening was wonderful. Enjoy! Recommended for a special evening.
Delish. It is a treat every time I go to Cafe Monarch. I highly recommend it when you want something new and differenct.
Don’t be fooled this place which cute has lots of problems. Dinner last night with another couple. We found both entree offerings bland and uninspired. Pork was over cooked and therefore dry. No taste to the shrimp dish. Chef is a prima dona. First course was nothing more than some canned beets with goat cheese. We actually went elsewhere afterwards to get a good meal.
Excellent!. The best place to dine – anywhere. I love it, my sister loves it, my teen kids love it. Like anything of quality, this appeals across genders and generations. It’s not just the food, the atmosphere is unparalleled. Treat yourself.
