Threw a 2 on this one… I came here from a referral from a friend. It was disappointing. It tasted like everything was microwaved. The kung pao chicken had like 3 pieces of chicken, a couple vegetables, and a econo sized bag of peanuts…. the sauce was not tasty, nor spicy. The sweet and sour chicken lacked big time. Then they used the same chicken nuggets for the general Tao as the sweet and sour. It was terrible. It wasn’t even close to what it should be. The pork egg rolls should be renamed to ginger rolls. So much ginger, you couldn’t taste anything else in it. Not going back. 2 is being nice….

Enigmatic Asian…. Tiny place. Hard working family running it. Great plate presentation on very affordable lunch meals. There were a couple of things that don’t/might add up. Their calling is no MSG. Flavors here were kinda lacking, and as strange as it is for me to admit, it might be because they are MSG free? Don’t get me wrong, there really wasn’t anything bad about any bite, but it’s just so hard to put it all together in my mind. Ever had that happen to you? Otherwise, it was an interesting place. 80% of the patrons were older dudes with older Asian wives (assumed), and that leads me to believe they were retired military guys who had served in the Pan-Pacific region and brought home a wifey. Not a darned thing wrong with that. Indeed, the owners were a Caucazoid middle-aged guy and a lovely middle-aged Asian wife, totally fitting the modus operandi. One thing to mention was their ‘always $1.99’ Heineken special, that you know I might have looked in to. I dunno. I wish they used MSG, I suppose…
I had a wonderfully subtle and elegant meal here. Apparently this little strip mall restaurant has two geniuses in the kitchen. They are husband and wife. Their daughter runs the front and the bartender is the floor show. Despite the look of the place, this is one of the great finds we always hope to find. I found it tonite! Don’t miss this one!
