Beautiful restaurant, ok sushi. It’s a beautiful restaurant being a part of the W resort in Scottsdale. We had great service and a fun time at the party upstairs. But I’m really picky when it comes to finding good sushi in AZ and the sushi here was just ok. My bill came to $50 for just 3 rolls and we only had water to drink. I know it’s Scottsdale and I get prices are higher out here. But if I’m going to pay that kind of money for sushi, it better be amazing. foodartandculture.com
Located in Old Town Scottsdale at the W Hotel, Sushi Roku is a supreme sushi dinning experience. The lovely surrounding city, including the Scottsdale Waterfront, provides a very sound setting. Connected with the stunning W Hotels exclusive experience and benevolent nature, Sushi Roku is ideal for anyone looking for some great sushi. Although the prices for sushi may be high, you will get your moneys worth. The service at Sushi Roku is unbeatable; the amicable waiter ensures full satisfaction towards the customer. At the sushi bar, where all the sushi is freshly handmade, sushi chefs prepare the meal in plain sight. The complexity of crafting a simple sushi roll is fascinating and nothing short of art. All orders placed were met with zero errors and in good time. In conclusion, my experience at Sushi Roku was superb. With an all around welcoming environment and attentive employees, Sushi Roko is great for family dinners and business meetings. I would recommend Sushi Roku to anyone who is interested in unique food with authentic Japanese style.
Fine Dining for the Sushi Aficionado. I have traveled to Tokyo about 16 seperate occasions and made a point of visiting the Ginza district near the fish market so I feel I have a good reference point for sushi and sashimi. (If you only eat sushi rolls, please consider if you should review Japanese quinine, as this is like mixing scotch with Sprite and offering your expertise on fine scotch.) I ordered the premium Chirashi, which is the chef’s best sashimi samples served on a bed of sushi rice. It was simply outstanding. My only complaint is that no Toro (Blue Fin Tuna Belly) was served, but not many restaurants in the US do since it is so expensive. Beautiful ambiance. I also didn’t see aquariums of live shellfish which is common in Asia. Fine dining for the true sushi aficionado.
I took my girlfriend in for dinner and they were absolutely amazing they had a 25 dollar Locals only menu has a full 3 course meal for you to choose from and we were almost full after only the second course, we chose to experiment and we got the yellowtail sashimi, tuna Carpaccio, the shrimp tempura and hanabi, and for our main course we got the strip steak and 2 rolls of sushi, spicy tuna roll and the spicy jalapino roll. I will say I was stuffed after the 2nd course both of the appetizers were absolutely perfect. The shrimp tempura was delicious but I think it would be better if it had a little spice to it, and the hanabi was absolutely to die for if I wasn’t so full I would go buy another 4 plates of just the hanabi. For our final course the strip steak was cooked to perfection and the meat was so delicate I barely even needed a knife, moving on to the sushi, the spicy tuna roll was good but it wasn’t anything that Would blow your socks off, it was a tuna roll, but the spicy jalapina roll (shrimp tempura asparagus jalapino and some kind of spicy mayo) was amazing the sushi guys really nailed it with that roll. To top it all off the service was extremely nice and very helpful. Would recommend this to any group of friends wether sushi is your thing or not
Loved it! We let our server Amy choose the sushi for us. She started us out with 4 types of sashimi and each one was better than the last. Than she brought us the cooked crab hand roll. I was worried it would be too much but it was perfectly light and delicious. The last item was a spicy tuna roll. This was also good but not memorable. Overall the food was great and so was the service.
Worst service in Scottsdale. For all the hype I heard about Sushi Roku I was more disappointed in this restaurant than any other in my life. Our reservations were for 9:30pm, but we did not get seated until 45 minutes later. The reason? We were told there was another guest that was an ‘expensive client’ and our seats were given away…we ended up leaving after being seated and not being serviced an additional 5 minutes before walking out. For the price we heard about the food, we did not want to waste our money in this low class restaurant.
Beautiful place. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside! The service was just okay. I expected better food though for the price. I ordered filet steak. It was cooked too much and I didn’t bother sending it back because I was starving by that point. We were sitting on the top/roof that is completely open and a rainstorm was coming. It started raining during dinner and they didn’t hurry to help us to another table or anything. I was a bit surprised.
