I took the family to Southwest Bistro for a birthday lunch for my wife. Just perfect! Outstanding food. A beautiful setting. Excellent service. (Thank you Clifford and Justyn.)
Great Fajitas and excellent value!. Friday night is Margarita and Fajitas night. Margaritas cost about 6$ and the Fajitas aroun 12$. and this for a Friday night! absolutely fabulous, great value, food, service.I had Fajitas for the first time in my life (living in Switzerland) in 1989, at this very same place and they are still excellent!I don’t understand why this should be a $$$$ place, it’s more a $$ to $$$ place.
This restaurant sets the bar high when it comes to hotel restaurants in terms of quality of food, service and ambiance. I’ve eaten here 3 or 4 times now and the food/service never disappoints. The salsa sampler is great as it comes with a selection of three flavourful salsas and high quality tortilla chips. One of the best steak fajitas I’ve had comes with enough rice, beans, and condiments to feed two people. Everything is cooked properly and nothing is bland. It is a good idea to sit at the outdoor patio as the dining room is fairly small. Overall, one of the better restaurants in this part of town.
Southwest Bistro. When I went it was very crowded and it took a while to be seated. The breakfast is not very traditional American, it has a very latin/southwest style to it. The name is not deceiving. It was some of the best breakfast I’ve ever had though. The atmosphere was lovely and you could sit outside by a fire pit that gave off a hickory smell. It was just wonderful. That hotel is just the perfect atmosphere to enjoy this little bistro.
AWESOME!. Normally when I travel I stay away from the hotel restaurant. The prices are always too high and the food is always mediocre at best. But after a long hot day I didn’t have the energy to get back in the car and sat down at the SWB. And it was so good, with such a varied menu, I ate every meal at this restaurant for the remainder of my visit. I could write a long review of how delicious everything we tried was but for the sake of time I’m just going to focus on one. The filet. I’m from Omaha and I grew up eating at the many locally owned steakhouses. I know a good steak. I didn’t expect to find it in Phoenix. This steak was so perfectly cooked and seasoned topped with the most delicious southwestern butter. Served with a crock of cheesy broccoli and a mashed potato chipotle fritter it was the most delicious filet meal I have ever had. We also tried the zucchini sticks, fundido, crab avocado salad, mac and cheese, breakfast entrees, the burger – all delicious. Did I mention the burger? Again, one of the best I have ever had. If you live in Scottsdale, make the trip to SWB. You will not be disappointed.
