We’ve been here a number of times and it’s always really good. I always get the garlic naan or plain naan and the butter chicken mild. They are also one of the only Indian restaurants that serve beef curries. My husband loves the vindaloo here too.
Taj Mahal is an Indian Restaurant that is newly opened in Old Town Scottsdale at the time of this review. We shared two dishes the Chicken Biryani and Fish (maui maui) Vindaloo. I am aware that there are many variations of Biryani but this was the most complex Biryani I’ve come across so far it had that just right mix of golden raisins, toasted almonds and herbs. The chicken in it was very moist and delicious. It was the best Biryani I remember having. The Fish Vindaloo was spicy and tangy in a tomato based based sauce. The fish seemed fresh tasting and was flaky. Garlic Naan was delicious and I loved mopping up the extra sauce with it. Owner was very hospitable and friendly. He told me that he is well known for his Masala and people drive up to TWO Hours for it. He claims that he serves the BEST Masala..I’ll try this place again and maybe I’ll try the Masala.
