Great Food, Fun for All!. Most authentic Indian food outside of India! I know, because I’ve been! Don’t let the idea of exotic food scare you away…there’s something for everyone here, even vegetarians and children! Try the paneer (pressed cheese) dishes or samosas choley if you don’t like meat. Try the chicken or paneer Makhani if you don’t like the heat! For medium-spicy dishes, the Chicken Tikka Masala is excellent with a side of rice and naan bread! If you want a bite of something that’ll bite you back with a really great flavor, try the Tandoor Fish wrap! The key to eating reasonably is to go as a group of 2 or more, get rice and naan and a couple different items to share with the entire table. You don’t have to drink alcohol, but there’s a full service bar at all 3 of the Tandoori Times locations and the beer selection is above-average! This is the original location and offers a great, semi-upscale atmosphere and a nice patio complete with hookah! Bellydancers join the fun on Friday and Saturday nights. Decent value if you crave very good quality food, an exotic atmosphere and an authentic Indian experience. Ok, the bellydancing isn’t exactly authentic, but it’s definitely exciting! One of my favorite weekend hangouts…solid 5 out of 5!
Tandoori Times. This was one of the go-to restaurants for my friends and I back in Scottsdale. My personal favorite was the chili paneer, although their beef vindaloo and samosas were vying for an extremely close second.I always went without reservations and usually didn’t have a problem getting a table. If you go this way, it’s probably best to go with a booth just because there’s less demand for it as opposed to the tables in the middle. My experiences with the waiters were usually really great. They knew me after a while because I’d go here once every two weeks (and I’d almost always order the same thing). They have belly dancing on certain nights, which are usually their busier nights. Occasionally, there will be a woman near the entrance selling jewelry and saris (some of which are gorgeous). Don’t go on these nights without a reservation (Fridays and Saturdays). Sundays, on the other hand, work well here. Overall, this is one of the restaurants I miss most now that I’m in a different state. It’s also one that I highly recommend.
Little expensive but good. Tandoori chicken and tandoori fish are awesome. Briyani, not much. Bailey dance on fri and sat which is good 🙂
Staff was very rude. Made us change tables mid-dinner to a table that seemed more like the utility closet in the back of the dining area, even though most if the tables were empty, because we didn’t have reservations. Food was so-so. Will never go again.
Good Food. This is the one of the best indian restaurant’s so far in phoenix/scottsdale area. i love the food especially the chaat which is served on sat and sun. And another fact I like about them is they dont close after 3pm like some of the other Indian restaurant’s do.
Nice Casual Place. This was a nice place to dine. Food portions are good and very tasty. We had the VEGETABLE BiRYANi, CHiCKEN TiKKA MASALA, SAAG PANEER, and the NAVRATAN KORMA. The service was friendly but was odd to be served by a white guy instead of the normal Indian server. Good waiter though. Looking forward to returning some day to try other menu items.
I was very disappointed! I frequently eat at Tandoori Times 2 on Bell and 59th and always enjoy the food and service. I have had the opposite experience here! Small portions, watered down mint chutney and poor service! Back to bell rd I go! Same owners but totally different experience
