Absolutely love this place. Especially the last Friday of the month when I can get lobster bisque. Tried a few different sandwiches and all of them were awesome but I really like the Italian stallion. The French onion is also good as well not to salty which can be common at quite a few places. Great find and great food
Good Sandwiches, Vermont Decor. Honestly the sandwiches were good but not great. My wife from Salt Lake wasn’t impressed at all. I thought the roast beef sandwich was pretty unique and tasty although the white bread was underwhelming. The ham/turkey was fun with maple syrup flavoring and sliced apples – at least it was a little different. The cole slaw was average and the potato salad was far below average. The noodle soup was terrible – like ramen-in-the-pouch nasty. The decor is fun and the location is handy. I’m not sure I’ll try it again since Andreoli’s next door is far superior. This is probably a good place if you’re from Vermont or you’re a Red Sox fan – there’s a big sign in the back. Sorry, Yankees – I hope that didn’t impact my review 😉
Love at first bite. A sandwich just the way I’d make it.
THE BEST DAMN SANDWICHES. Hands UP! Best sandwich in town! But you do not need me to tell you that! The reason I am slapping down 5 stars is for the unexpected exceptional service. I needed to order a few sandwiches for work last week on the fly and of course everyone voted for Vermont Sandwich Company. It was around 9am and they did not open until 10:00 …which was the time my starving coworkers were expecting me to feed them. I pressed my luck and gave them a ring and to my surprise I was greeted by the friendliest voice, helpful suggestions, and most importantly fresh and ready lunch for fifteen and 9:45am pickup… a couple great catered platters of miscellaneous quartered sammies & chips.Thank you Vermont Sandwich for not being too HIP and HUNGOVER to take my order! You now have another devoted follower- Gloria
Worthy of a second visit. This small sandwich shop is tucked away in the back corner of a strip mall. There are only 5 tables inside, although there are several more out in front. Portions are large, so a half sandwich might be enough for most people. Anything with roast beef is good, as they roast their own. They also have homemade cookies which are good. This was my first eating here and there were a few missteps. My sandwich was supposed to include bacon crumbles and I didn’t taste any at all, which might have been due to the piles and piles of sliced red onions on it. It was also on the squishiest sourdough bread I have ever seen. I had a cup of French onion soup, which was as thick as gravy, although this might have been because it was the last of the pot. It was topped with croutons and a slice of cheese that wasn’t melted. There’s no excuse for that. Even though there were only two other customers in the room, the noise level was high, as the four guys behind the counter talked loudly amongst themselves. I’m not sure why so many employees are needed (a fifth was out delivering orders), as they outnumbered the customers the entire time I was there. Still, I’ve read many good things about the place, so I will give them another try. Despite the shortcomings, the food was still tasty and worthy of another visit.
Big, fat tasty sandwiches – I loved the Italian Stallion. You will not go away hungry. I recommend this restaurant and I’ll be coming back.
What a find! The best sandwich shop you’ve never known was there. Relaxing and friendly atmosphere with excellent music. Great sandwich, wrap selections and the ingredients are always fresh. Try the pasta salad on the side.
