It’s ok! but not what it used to be. So this used to be a favorite years ago. But unfortunately, not now! The service was outstanding, the Margaritas and chips and salsa fresh and yummy. The main courses were meh, not horrible, but not what it used to be. Our table ordered The Chile rellenos, the cheese green Chile crisp, the Chile Colorado Chimichanga and the carne asada tacos. The chimi had good flavor, the Tacos were ok, but I make better carne at home, and the Chile rellenos was just ok. The rice was flavorless literally it didn’t taste like anything, the beans were actually pretty good. I’m sad though, there wasn’t much that tasted fresh and most dishes lacked authentic Mexican flavor/spices!
Decent but not the best. Always crowded so that in itself tells a story of good food. For me the food is nothing special and the portions are just average as well. Seating is a bit to close together for my liking. Parking is always a challenge. They have a large selection of tequilas which is nice. The wait staff is average at best not bad but certainly not that friendly either. I will probably never eat here again as there are so many GREAT Mexican restaurants to choose from
My wife and I had a huge craving forMenudo that needed to be filled. Spent almost four hours of my shift researching for the best Menudo in Tucson. Teresa’s Mosaic Cafe seemed to pop up every time. We picked up a few orders and tried it out at home, but we we’re not pleased. It lacked flavor. Tasted bland with an tangy after taste from the red chile. Couldn’t even taste the pork in the broth. After adding plenty of lime, salt, red chili flakes, and dried oregano it was finally good enough to eat. Haven’t eaten at the restaurant, so I think we’ll still give it a shot. I’m gonna show up to Teresa’s with low expectations, and see if the food is as good as everyone gives it credit for.
Unable to accommodate the disabled. I am confined to a wheelchair and require a table high enough to not harm my legs. We went to this restaurant last night and found that all their 4 top tables have a wooden piece under the table so I couldn’t slide under the table. I asked to be able to sit at a larger table because it would accommodate me . The mgr. refused my request, and didn’t have an alternative for me, so I had to leave (in tears, I might add). They might have good food and service but certainly no compassion. I was very humiliated and disappointed!
Chorizo or huevo?. This was my second visit to Teresa’s, and I was prepared to be wowed. I was expecting to be at least pleased. But I never expected to be treated so poorly. My first experience of Teresa’s was good. I liked the decor and the view. I wasn’t overly impressed with the food, but they had good salsa and good salsa can cover a lot of sins. I had their chilaquiles and it wasn’t the worst meal ever.My wife and I decided to try it again, just the two of us, and we drove the fifteen miles across town to enjoy the nice views and pleasant atmosphere. I decided to try their chorizo con huevo burro this time. It is my favorite type of mexican breakfast and I tend to judge mexican restaurants by their chorizo and their salsa. The salsa was great, so how bad could the chorizo be?Our waiter brought out our food and after a few bites, I realized there was no chorizo in my food at all. It was just an egg and potato burro. Good, but not what I ordered. I called over the waiter and politely asked if I could get my food remade. Simple mistake. Happens all the time. No big deal. He took the food away and said he’d have it fixed immediately. I thanked him profusely, apologized for the inconvenience, etc. My wife finished her meal. And we waited. And waited. And waited. More coffee. And waited. Finally the waiter reappeared with food on a plate. I was delighted. Thanked him again. Etc. The burro was now a burrito. No big deal. I took a bite. Not great. I looked inside and found what I can only describe as garbage. The burrito was filled mostly with potato again, but instead of the soft warm potatoes my first meal had featured, these were just dirty home fries. No egg. No chorizo. It looked like the cook had just scraped together the dross from his grill and tossed it into a tortilla. When I complained again to the waiter he said he would talk to the manager. He returned with the bill.No apologies. No explanations. No offers of a discount. No coupon for next time. I ended up paying nine dollars for an inedible breakfast.I won’t be returning there, but if you elect to eat there please know that it is unwise to send your food back. Who knows what the cook will dig out of the garbage for you to eat.
NO FLAVOR BUT GOOD SERVICE. After eating here twice, I would not return because there was no flavor to the food, greasy tacos, ground beef was not seasoned at all, and the homemade tortillas were awful. My husband did like the fried ice cream and I did enjoy the salsa.
Server SOO Rude – Management Admits to Not Be Surprised & Shrugs. Ive been to this restaurant SOO many times, but this time was a BAD experience followed up with BAD customer service from management. So our server made it obvious he was avoiding our table once I asked for my chimichange to be remade with beans on the side vs inside since it was overpowering the flavor of the beef. He did not refill our drinks, and would serve the tables adjacent to us but move past us each time. I had to ask for the check and box twice. I only got the check, no box. When I paid and told the manager on duty about the sad service, I got a shrug. I inquired about this being a normal thing and the response was yes its normal for him to be disgruntled. I wonder why they keep him if they know hes rude to patrons. Huh, I wont be finding out why ever again.
