Great wine selection, great homemade pasta, great service. Even made time for a almond croissant! Favorite restaurant in Phoenix metro area.
The bruschetta is awesome! Voodoo penne and lasagna are also great. Service often seems a bit slow. But nice atmosphere. Nice organic food selection. Food is very flavorful. One of my favorites.
Horrible Food. When there tonight for the first time and would never go back! The chicken was so dry I almost choked on it. My husband’s beer wasn’t even filled up to the top when he got it. Plus how do you not serve bread with pasta and not get a spoon with your spaghetti and meatballs. I didn’t even get vegetables with my chicken, I got about 7 pieces of small potatoes…and for $22 you think it would come with a salad or a vegetable..just horrible. Plus it was so hot in there! It’s 80 degrees outside people put the air on!!!!! ugh!!!
Phenomenal. Quite possibly my favorite restaurant in the U.S. I always make it a point to go there when I’m in Tempe. Get the gnocchi; trust me.
Walking down Mills St. I noticed Ncounter restaurant was packed. Then walking around corner found Cafe Boa. Pleasant patio and not crowded. The coffee is very good. But, be warned a refill is a second cup and a second charge. The food is good snd tasty. But remember that a restaurant that brings out water with a cucumber is pricey. I recommended this restaurant, if you have the pesos. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain
I had been a huge fan of Caffe Boa since forever. Up until 2012, it was the place my friends and I would always love to go to. While a student at ASU, I considered it a lovely change of pace from all the typical restaurants surrounding the university. It was so original, classy and the staff was passionate about food and its customers. Now, it has gone downhill and is a MAJOR disappointment all around. First thing- they got rid of their free local bread with hummus/aioli/olive oil. Second- overly priced food that is no longer great quality AND you get really small portions. Last year I got lasagna that was the size of my fist–$20. Really? Third- there is no care about appearance… The staff is dressed so casually now (jeans and tennis shoes). Before everyone had to wear all black. The girl servers would wear dresses with ballet flats and the male servers would wear ties and dress shoes. It was nice to see a restaurant that did this. If I go to a restaurant that charges $20 for lasagna, the atmosphere and staff should be elegant and have class. Fourth- lack of menu diversity. The menu never changes like it used to. The last time I dined at Boa was at the beginning of November, and it will be the last time ever that I will go here unless things go back to how they used to be. What happened Boa? Why have you completely changed your outlook on dining? You have lost a ton of loyal customers (myself included) because of your poor decisions. I also know a lot of your staff who have left because of these poor decisions. All this and given that the restaurant has been empty the last few times I have gone, don’t expect Boa to stay open much longer. Such a bummer from what used to be a lovely place.
Used to be amazing, but it has lost its charm. Our family went and the two of us who chose to go there kept apologizing after to everyone else for our choice. The cioppino has ground beef in it!!! $27 for some frozen seafood tossed with meat sauce and a few pieces of old, cold bread. We order the flatbread, and the amount of raw garlic was so offensive it burned. The salads were bland, and everyone who got a dish with red sauce had the exact same canned ragu tasting sauce. Our service was ridiculously slow on top of everything. Six adults, no alcohol, a couple shared a salad and entree, and the bill was $150! They didn’t even give us bread while we waited forever for our food! So disappointing.
