First time here and I like the place. I had a big one and the fried zucchini. The burgers are cooked right in front of of you while you wait and the zucchini is in a beer batter.It’s worth coming in and skipping the chain burger places.
On a business trip, hotel recommended. So glad I went! Hole in the wall joint with a delicious burger! Onion rings were AWESOME! ! Good fresh fixings bar. Food was really good. I bet this place is hard to get into on a Friday night with all the college kids around.
You want a good old fashioned burger? Go here. I consider myself a burger guy and this was a freaking fantastic burger. All the fixings (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc) are on buffet-style table, everything tastes super fresh, and the root beer is great. I do wish they took credit cards but at least they have the ATM right there.
Super great! Low cost on food and drinks is a plus. The environment is nice, Juan is the man. All around great place, good food, nice people!
I chose to experience the true American culture with an authentic double bacon cheeseburger. The cheeseburger with a cheap american cost and a quick american serving. I did not get to take a picture of the restaurant but, I’m sure I can give a detailed explanation. The Shack like restaurant structured almost completely of wood, the inside was low lit and small. The tables were wooden and the seats were painted wooden crates. The way food was served was buffet-ish style, you would order then they would make it in front of you, then put the sandwich on a paper plate. Youd take the plate pick what sized drink you want and what you want to drink, choose to have fries or not then, you pay and then go over to the condiment counter.The way I felt when I entered the restaurant was multiplied by 300 when I left. I walked in happy with my day on and empty stomach and, walked out even happier on an over full stomach. Even more happy to see that I still had money in my wallet. I couldn’t emphasize enough how great the food and the serving size was for the price. I will defiantly go back with friends and family very soon.The only disappointing thing was that they only took cash, but there was an atm inside which was convenient. When i take my friends back I will try something different then, when I go back for a third time I will take my family and try something else different. Checkbox is definitely up in my top three.
What is a more authentic meal than an American cheeseburger at the iconic Chuck Box in Tempe, Arizona. What seems like a hole in the wall burger joint has been a staple to ASU and the Tempe area for decades. The cash only Chuck Box features seats that are crates, trash cans that are big wooden barrels and a broken down wagon out front.Chuck Box makes what is probably the best burger you will have in your life. Your choice of a third or half pound burger flame broiled over a charcoal grill. A mouth watering, sensational burger with your option of cheese and the addition of bacon. You can watch as the chefs pull your hamburger patty from the the fridge and slap it on the flaming grill. You can hear the sizzling of the burgers and the boiling of fresh cut fries as they become what we all know as french fries. The condiment stand allows you to put any condiment and however much of any condiment on your burger as you would like. I had a great time as I sat and ate my burger and conversed with friends as I looked around at all the photos and history on the walls. Chuck Box is one of the best burger joints in Arizona. It is a must visit if you are near the Tempe area. Youll be visiting a restaurant that provides rich history to the city of Tempe and is a legendary place to grab a bite to eat before or after an ASU football game. Just be sure you bring your cash or youll be going to the ATM, which is conveniently located inside Chuck Box.
Rude, inconsiderate and horrible.. Will not patronize this establishment in the future and will be sure to tell everyone I know that it is not worth the time, money or frustration.
