This place is an absolute treat. Totally loved it. Starting from the service to the ambience and the delicious food. A winter chill night and sitting outdoors was the best. They’ve got a great variety and spread menu of wines and food/ even though I would have liked a little more vegetarian options nonetheless it was good. Food – Soup of the day – mushroom soup with cheese. I’m usually not a mushroom fan but this soup totally had me. The cheese and cream just took over the strong mushroom taste and made it heavenly. Vegetable biryani – I was shocked to see this on the menu but it was good. Portion was good. I found it A bit sweet for my taste but the entire dish with nuts and tofu blended well. Beef tenderloin – beautifully decorated dish with the right serving for one. Thought it could be shared but after a bite there was one more ordered on the table. Desserts – Bread pudding – coming from Bombay I was expecting something completely different by this pudding was good. It was cakey and and topped with cream and cinnamon apples.

Every once in a while you find a gem… This is a gem! From start to finish the experience was incredible. Elegant and charming. The dressing on the mixed green salad was truly one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The beef tenderloin was calling to me, and it did not disappoint. And the bread pudding…OMG the bread pudding! Top all of that with a robust wine list and fantastic service. This is a must visit!

Consistently excellent. House of Tricks is our favorite restaurant in the East Valley. The house itself is quaint and cozy so the atmosphere is set. The food has never disappointed; both lunch and dinner.

What happened to it? bad lunch. Went for lunch this past saturday. have gone to the restaurant numerous times with good experiences. This day we received out food an it was out and out nasty. I ordered the sirloin salad. Asked for medium cooked beef. I received tough, well done chewy pieces of beef, not edible, overdressed, swimming in dressing salad. Overall nasty and disgusting. My wife’s meat loaf was dry with no flavor and potatoes had no cheese as advertised, with old nastly stringbeans. I guess HOT is resting on its laurels, we won’t make the drive anymore. Don’t go there.

NEVER AGAIN!. We had reservations for 10 people for the night of MY WEDDING on Friday, April 26th, 2013. We arrived on time for our 7:45p reservation but NO table! We had to wait for 30 minutes to get a table, and then it was on grass, not the concrete pavers (awful for high heels digging into the ground). Plus, the table didn’t have lights overhead (thank goodness for cell phone lights to see the menu)….we felt like we were in someone’s lawn, not in the cute, romantic ambiance that this restaurant is known for …and why I made the reservation here. To top it off, our waiter was RUDE! ZERO personality. He brought out a measly fruit and cheese platter to say sorry for the wait. Never once did the manager come over to apologize. Our total bill for 10 people was $450, not including a tip. My food was cold. Others weren’t happy with their meal either but our waiter didn’t care one bit. I will NEVER ever go back and do whatever I can to spread the word. It didn’t ruin my wedding night but sure put a bad taste in my mouth.
