Had the Italian beef and sausage with hot peppers. The service quick and the sandwich was outstanding. Frys were just crispy enough. Defiantly a place to come back to as the selection was large.

I am not a hotdog or burger guy but visited this place for lunch with some friends and had Italian sausage upon their recommendation. I must say that this has been the best I had so far. Though the pasta we had was just ok. Would visit again some time.

Yummy and cheap food. We loved the chocolate shake, but the cake shake was just too grainy for us. The fries are good too, and the breaded chicken croissant sandwich was surprisingly flaky and delicious.

Whad-a’ya nuts?! I’ve been dying for a decent beef in the desert, as I’m a long, lost soul from Chi-town who can’t bear to leave the open spaces and arid climate. This Portillo’s is indistinguishable from some on the north side of Chicago, where the only better beefs come from little shacks among the neighborhood streets.

Again trying to get a good Italian Beef sandwich. Portillos comes with Chicago creds. Unfortunately their Italian Beef sandwich skimps on the beef, dry (even though I asked for it wet) and flavorless. Sad this towns only good sandwich was Al’s beef and they closed. I do not recommend this restaurant. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

It’s An Ok Chicago Fix. Corporate chain famous for there Italian beef, a clean and efficient place, does not feel like a hot dog stand, but a large warehouse store. I ordered the jumbo hot dog, small fries, and small soda, The dog did not snap, the fries were much too salty. There are smaller better Chicago Hot Dog and Italian Beef places in town, that have that Chicago feeling.

Taste of Chicago in the Valley of the Sun. This popular Chicago chain started in 1963. Now they are opening here in the valley of the sun capitalizing on the business from the many Chicago locals that live here. The restaurant itself has a fun atmosphere to it with all the memorabilia on the walls and all the activity that goes on. My favorites are the Jumbo Chicago-style dog, the Beef n’ Cheddar Croissant, the Chopped Salad and the Chocolate Cake Shake. This Tempe location is strategically located next to the Cubs spring training facility and should do quite well. foodartandculture.com
