Nice environment with good sushi
First Time Eating Sushi. The moment you walk in the front door you are taken in by the dim lights and music thats playing but not so loud that you cant hear. The sushi bar is very cool, I could see all the different types of fish and the chef creating the rolls. I was confused as in what to order when the waitor came by. She took our drink orders and saw the puzzled look on my face and suggested that I try the Philadelphia sushi roll. It consists of fresh salmon, cream cheese, and cucumber; which is rolled with sea weed and rice ofcourse. I decided to go with this roll just to see if I would like sushi. I ordered it and waited for the chef behind the bar to make it.The moment of truth.. Would I like sushi or not? I took my first bite and it was amazing. My taste buds were in full action. I have never eaten anything like that. Im not a big fan of fish but I thought I should try it because my mother loves it. I turned out to really like it. We ordered the Caterpillar roll and the Spicy Salmon roll. The Caterpillar roll came out and it looked like an actual caterpillar!! It was awesome. The way the waitors were there to check up on us if we needed something was nice and they didnt do it to the point that it was annoying. The Chef behind the sushi bar was very funny and answered nicely everytime I asked about the different types of fish. Going to Ra Sushi Bar Restaurant was a very fun experience. I highly recommend it to anyone. If you haven’t eaten sushi before this is definitely the place to start! The prices were a little high but the sushi you get is definitely worth every penny you spend.
AMAZING EXPIERENCE!. If you like sushi then this is the place for you. The moment you walk in, you notice the ellegance of the resturaunt. It is very dark with lots of blue and different color lights. My family and I went here for my Dad’s birthday. When we approached the hostess she had a big smile and was very friendly with us. She proceeded to walk us to our seat and not to long after the waitor introduced himself. He then asked what we would like to drink and instantly brought theme out. As the dinner went on I was confused as in what to order. The waitor kindly suggested the generic California sushi roll. It consists of avocado, crab, and cucumber which is then rolled with sea weed and rice. I decided to go with this roll just to see if I would like sushi. I ordered and not to long after the waitor brought it out. Throughout the whole dinner the waitor was consistantly checking in on us. The California roll looked so delicious and presentation is key when eating something. My dad eats sushi frequently and noticed the crab was very fresh. I was indecisive whether or not to try it. But I figured the worst that could happen is I would’nt like it. The roll was very delicious and they also have this dessert called green tea icecream that I also tried. That is probably my favorite icecream of all time because not very many sushi restaurants have it. Overall the expierence was excellent and I wouldn’t change anything about it.
This place needs a lot of work. The restaurant looks small from the outside but when you enter there suprisingly is much more room than what you might think. The cleanliness of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. The place was dirty, if it was not for meeting friends there who were eating I would have walked out. The restrooms were filthy. There was a server who waited on us who sucked I can best descrive him as an unkept either native american or hispanic male with glasses and dirty long dark hair. Unshaved and untrimmed as well. Took him 15 minutes to take our drink order and he only had 2 other tables. The sushi was mediocre I have had much better sushi at other establishments such as suyira, sushi 101, stngray, etc. The fish is predone for some of the rolls and almost everything we ordered was crammed full of imitation crab base. When i order a tempura roll i expect tempura not a little piddly piece of tempura shrimp overloaded with imitation crab same thing with other rolls we had. It was a waste of 100 bucks and would never eat there again.
Great place for sushi!
Very tasty! Fun, young, metro environment. Good presentation, the rolls were put together very nicely. The staff was very friendly and curtious. It wasn’t the best sushi I’ve ever had, but for a land-locked state like Arizona, I was very impressed! I’ve been to several sushi resturants in Phoenix ( sushi is my favorite food) and I think RA sushi bar is by far one of my favorites! I highly recommend it! The location is great too! Mill street is in a fun, trendy part of town! There are alot of shops and things to do! You could make a day of it! Too bad I’m only here for business
